Hello everyone. My name is Loni, and I am a 23 year old from Ennis, Tx. I have been reading posts on here for quite a while, and have decided it is time that I jumped on the bandwagon and finally joined the message boards. Keep it dirty! Loni

I am a big fan of DJ and have posted here on the vboard. I was listening to the morning DJ (Jim Kerr on Q104FM in NYC), and he was previewing the this week's DJ Episode on his show. He issued a live request for Mike to come on the show. Now, I am sure he gets hundreds of requests to do radio & TV shows all the time, but if Mike was in the NYC area, where would the request be sent for him to make a personal appearance on Q104FM? Is there an address I can pass onto the radio station? I am sure there are lots of morning fans here in NY, NJ & the shoreline of CT that would love to hear Mike trade jabs with Jim & his morning co-horts.
Thanks, Kathy
Thanks a bunch, Kathy
Hi Kathy, welcome to the forum. I think the best way for the radio station to try to arrange something with Mike is either through Pilgrims Studios (the address is in my original post and you can probably get the number from information) or through The Discovery Channel's publicity department. Mike does do occasional press junkets in New York so it might be possible to arrange something. Good Luck. Laurann
Thanks very much! I will send an e-mail to Jim or Shelli @ Q104FM & see what develops. Kathy

Dear Mike... My family and I are HUGE fans of the show, even the reruns are considered "Can't Miss Television" at our house. Because you seem to be able to add-lib at will, the main question we "had" was "are the shows scripted or are you just that damned funny in real life?" After having read thru the interview with DC...it seems that you ARE just that funny, so no question necessary.
My husband and I were in the construction business (flooring [installing carpet, tile, etc]/home improvement [some of the houses definitely qualified as serious dirty jobs-we cleaned up more than our share of poo] for 12 years and he did residential drywall for 10 years prior to that)...both VERY dirty jobs. We have since changed careers...he's with the Big Orange Box of Home Improvement and I'm Assistant Manager with the King of Convenience Stores. Each of our new careers have their share of dirt....but nothing compared to our past professions. We are so very happy to know that you are out there to keep the rest of the country grounded in reality...Keep up the Dirty Work!

I have a good question, Mike, what were your thoughts about the weird guy at the penguin place? Is it just me, or did it seem like he cared a little "too much" about those penguins. I mean yeah I care about them too but you know, that guy gave me the creeps. I bet he cries for them, dreams about them, think about them ALL the time ect ect i dont know he just kidnda gave me the creeps, that's all. this question doesn't have to be answered I know you caught that

So,...do you know when Mike'll be back on? Cuz,I'd rather talk to him and ask him these questions, not ask you. No offense?

I hope that he comes back on soon! *thinks what it would be like to talk to him* Wow, what an honor.

Don't worry, I'm not offended. If you have questions and they haven't been answered in any of the FAQs, Q&As, bio, or live transcripts then you need to ask them down below below and not in this particular thread. Mike won't respond in this particular thread. Go to the top of the page and you will see a row of boxes. Click on "new" then click on "discussion" and ask your questions. It's hard to tell when Mike will be on; he really doesn't have the time now that he had in the beginning for the board. And the questions that he answers most often depend on his how much time he has and his mood. Sometimes he is in a silly mood and sometimes he is in a serious mmod. The only thing that he will quarentee is that he will read your post.

Hello everyone. My name is Crystal and im 22 years old and im from a boring town in Missouri. I am a fan of Dirty Jobs and decided to join this MB after reading some of the posts on here. Mike is an amazing guy showing us jobs that we would never to or have the stomach to do. But there are some people in my family who will not watch the show because they can't take some of the stuff that's been shown on the show (poo and few other things.) Be careful Mike and good luck!

Hi Alexacool and welcome to the boards.
No. Mike has said in the past that this space is his space. While there are some very nice Mike Rowe fan pages over there there is at least one purporting to be Mike but that is an imposter.

Hi, Im not sure if Im doing this right, so Im sorry if Im not..lol My six year old son absolutely loves Mike and Dirty Jobs...to the point where he won't even watch cartoons anymore for fear that he will miss a Dirty Jobs episode! And its not just him, its our whole family that loves Mike, but my son actually wants to BE Mike Rowe!haha This evening he had his 6th birthday party and I made him a Dirty Jobs cake just like he wanted. It really turned out good! So, I was wondering if someone could possilbly direct me to an address or a way that I could send some pics of my son with his Dirty Jobs cake to Mike? I understand that he is very busy, and I would understand completely if he couldnt respond to us, but I know it would just make my son's day (or year) to know that Mike actually got to see a pic of him with his cake. Thanks in advance to anyone at all that can help me! And if I posted this in the wrong place, Im sorry! This is my first time posting on here. Thanks again, Dawn, Missouri

Hi Dawn, welcome to the boards! This link will take you to the address you need. The reason I'm giving you the link to the post instead of just the address is that you might be interested in getting a signed photo for your son, perhaps for Christmas. Just follow Mike's instructions and you can slip in the picture and a brief note. HTH, Laurann

Thank you so so much! I really appreciate it. One more question, so your saying its ok for me to slip in the picture with my request? Just want to make sure I understood you right. Thanks again for your time.

I think it will be all right. Mike just says please no lengthy letters or any kind of packages or boudair portfolios. When he sits down to do the signing he has hundred's if not thousands to go through and it just slows things down if there is a lot of extra stuff in the request. However, I think a photo with a brief explanation on the back will be fine.
Laurann
P.S. That's not to say he doesn't want to read letters or get cookies or gifts but since he does his own mail, to get all that stuff mixed up together just slows the process down.

I have a question, (hopefully no one asked this already) how many times has Mike gotten sick on the show....? Just a little curious..

Hi Crystal, welcome.
Mike has only thrown up once on camera and that was during the shark tagging episode when he was making chum. He did throw up one other time I know -- however, this wasn't shown on camera and was during the "honey wagon" episode when they went to the school to clean out the grease traps.

Just wanted everyone at Dirty Jobs to know how impressive and fun we think the show is. Obviously, Mike gets a lot of fan mail and we think he deserves it. (We are a dad and two teenage sons.)

Hello Mike Rowe and everyone who makes Dirty Jobs possible. I must say that I love your show!! I just had a couple surgery's a few weeks ago and I am home on recouperation. I am very excited that I get to watch Dirty Jobs and catch up on the past shows. I would love to say that being a florist is a dirty job and invite mike to come to New Hampshire for a visit. I am not so sure it is so much a Dirty Job but is kinda is.. Thank you for doing what you do, it brings a smile to my face!!!!! Sincerely, Heather
