I do not know where that building is located, but I'd guess NYC by the Duane Reade sign and the fancy street light. DR is a drugstore chain (like CVS or Walgreen's) that is big in the Northeast. There are no DRs in the DC/Maryland/Northern Virginia area.
I'm at a total loss to explain why Discovery thinks *THAT* ad will bring eyeballs to Shark Week, and at even more of a loss as to why the building agreed to allow itself to be violated like that.
I think our little Shark Fest function is bringing more eyeballs to Discovery on Tuesday July 29 than that monstrosity, and we're doing it gratis.
Speaking of Shark Fest, I'm still waiting to hear from you, Mike Rowe. We'd love to have you!
Er, that came out all wrong.
We'd be delighted to have the presence of your honor....no, that's all wrong too.
Mike, just let the mods know if you can make it and they can tell me. I know you were here just a couple of weeks ago but I hope you haven't crossed us off your list just yet.
To the Shark Fest attendees, I'll be sending an update soon. To the Shark Fest fence-sitters, just say YES! To everyone who would like to come but can't *cough* Rita, Tracey *cough* we will miss you terribly.
Go read the comments, they're pretty funny. That thing really is plastered on that building and it's creeping out the guests in the hotel across the street.
I would never do *that* to my friends. I'm still scarred by the 40+ foot high banner that peered into my room at the Marriott Marquis in Times Square only two weeks after 9/11.
Forty feet of Michael Jackson and his "Invincible" album.
Okay, that ad really freaked me out. What are they thinking? If my oldest son saw that, he'd probably need some therapy. Don't they know that could scare the cr@p out of little kids?
