"Here is my take on it. There is a difference between an insult and an observation. If Mike is being snarky or condescending, that's just an observation. "
If you feel Mike is being "snarky or condescending" than it wouldn't it be better to make sure that was his intent before one just goes off and accuses him of being so? I also did not just narrow it down to insults. I am also speaking of people that judge every little thing that he does. From the what he said in the MH article to his responses back to members here. Why can’t one just take Mike at face value? Any one who watches the show for more than 5 min can tell Mike’s got a sarcastic sense of humor. So why do some people here, the ones that watch the most, automatically think the worse of him? I have read everything that has been labled as Mike being "snarky or condescending" and he was neither. He was to the point and honest. I could only hope more people in the world were like that.

Because that's not me. I ask questions. I can't help myself. I would like to think it a compliment that I would think enough of someone to ask them questions about this or that. It shows an interest.

Hey Necy777 "If you feel Mike is being "snarky or condescending" than it wouldn't it be better to make sure that was his intent before one just goes off and accuses him of being so?" I think Mike said it best: "I have to tell you that the difference between being obnoxious on purpose and being obnoxious by accident is exactly nothing. It's kind of like talking on a cellphone during a movie. Regardless of your intention, your actions are undeniable to those trying to watch the film. No one cares why you're obnoxious, only that you are."
I think the same applies to being condescending or snarky, regardless of intent, that doesn't change that it happened. However I have never accused Mike of being either, I'm just saying it's not really an insult either way.
"I also did not just narrow it down to insults. I am also speaking of people that judge every little thing that he does." I do think that some people here have a tendency to nit pick, but I think some degree of of analysis is necessary for critique, which I think is what a lot of the discussions that go around here can be chalked up to.
"Why can’t one just take Mike at face value?" I'm not sure Mike wants to be taken for face value, I know I don't.
"I have read everything that has been labeled as Mike being "snarky or condescending" and he was neither." Something we agree on.
I'm sorry you think we're snarky and condescending, if it helps any, we don't mean to be, or at least I don't.

as I've said before as long as these threads were started cause someone truly had concerns/questions..than cool..but if one is only doing this to get a response from him..than that's not cool..I personally like to be taken at face vaule..as in I say something and what I say does not get taken out of context. I do not like when people put words in my mouth or try to interpret what I may or may not mean when I say something..Maybe that's why I am having a hard time understanding all of this..and I thank you and the others for the imput..but I guess it may be best to agree to disagree..

Denise, I think this is sort of why I tend to hang around here and then leave in... not exactly disgust, but discomfort... after awhile. Some of the discussions are awesome. But some of the picking at Mike is just such obvious knee-biting behavior... and yeah, I do spend a lot of time wondering why he'll go back and forth and back again with people who are picking him to pieces. Why even try? I assume that he's by nature an engaging person. If you watch him on the show, he says things designed to get an answer back... and he responds on here, much of the time, to people who seem to be engaging him on an aggressive level. Just to keep life interesting. I prefer to talk to people who keep things pleasant. But then, nobody's ever going to ask ME to star on a tv show, because that's frankly boring.
"Okay, so who left the key to the padlock that keeps MegZ chained in the basement laying around?" I let her out. She is a source of endless amusement for me. No, I won't be putting her back. She and I are due to quote random movies back and forth to each other sometime this evening. Loni
MegZ's humor has that wonderful sense of the absurd. I guess she should be let out occasionally.....but just occasionally. Diana.

FINALLY, someone helps me sufficiently describe myself. My therapist, Dr. Greenbaum, has been trying to get me to "figure out what makes Megan, Megan" for 3 years, now.

I've been trying to figure out what makes Megan tick. Then I realized it was the Timex watch.
