Mike, you have such a great voice; you seem a natural for Shakespeare. Is there any Shakespearean character you would particularly like to play? (I think you would make a great Mark Antony or Mercutio.)
Me thinketh thou hath put forth a great question for Mike. Sorry, kind of lame. What about Mike playing Shakespeare himself? I thoroughly enjoyed "Shakespeare in Love" with Joseph Fiennes and Gweneth Paltrow. Who would play the fair Viola though?
I vote for Nick Bottom (the weaver) in A Midsummer Night's Dream. Or Oberon. Also, not Shakespeare, but I think he'd be boffo as Moliere's Don Juan. Yeah, boffo.

(I can't italicize, am I missing something, or is that not an option?)
Apemantus from Timon of Athens. He's a philosopher (very Mikeish), albeit a cynical one. He does get to have several witty exchanges throughout the play. And we know Mike is all about wit.
I didn't SAY Mel Gibson was a fine Hamlet. I only said that if HE could play it, Mike could also play it.
Goodness, how things get confused on the Board!
And since when is "Don Quixote" or "Man of La Mancha" a Shakespeare play? Just where are you going to the theatre, people?
How about King Lear? Now, there is a meaty part. A tragic play, about a King and his three Celtic daughters. Also, an opera, so Mike could sing the part later.
I wondered where that came from when I heard the HP commercial! He's doing that same spiel by the pool! Thanks Debi!
Mel Gibson as Hamlet was, um, not a good idea. He didn't do an unwatchably bad job. He's just the wrong guy. There was a production of Hamlet done at the Shakespeare Theater in Washington DC recently, last year I think, where Hamlet, Ophelia, R&G, etc were all in school uniforms and carrying backpacks. It worked!
