Hi Mike~

I've read thru the Travis McGee thread, and it saddens me to see that two of your fans are leaving this message board due to a comment that you made to them.

In one of your replies, you stated that MeganTracey0608 and chicknlips (Kelly) had "an agenda". There was never any explanation by you as to what this alleged agenda was, however, and apparently both posters were hurt enough that it has moved them to decide to leave the board.

Perhaps, in the spirit of Namaste, you could possibly explain what you meant in your use of that term to them? Often, the written word is not always as clear as we would think it is or like it to be. Statements are made, assumptions are drawn, and feelings are hurt. That's when a little clarity comes in handy.

I thank you very much for your time~

Hail wicked wckd Queen Lisa,

Your royal majesty, pls pardon my error. Its way past my bedtime, my ole mind is tired and my agenda is to jump into my glorious bed and snore. Your "agenda" has been discussed upteem times my highness. I know my lady was not feigning attention during the dialogue, yet to ask for another repeat. Do we really need the same clarity again, my wicked wckd Queen? Err..pardon my erroneous mind today.

Bye, I have to jump into my glorious bed.

With all due respect, Jenny, this question may well have been discussed, but it was never answered by Mike. In fact, Megan herself just asked the same question of Mike in her own thread.

I do hope he answers her, as it would be a shame to lose her from this mb over a misunderstanding of words.

Enjoy your glorious bed...I'd put a sleeping smiley here, but I see we don't have one...

Dear Jenny,

Lisa does not need defending but I somehow feel I must reply.

She is NOT talking about her "agenda". She is asking Mike to explain a statement he made on another thread.

Perhaps it is because English is not your first language, I believe you said you are French Canadian, but I do not believe Lisa's post required such a rude reply from you implying this question was about HER agenda.

Dear Lisas (Lisa and Lisa),

Had a good sleep and I hope you gals had sweeeet dreams too.

Moi, nest pas Francais. Just like Dawn's sweet agenda is always to bid Goodnite, some other gals' agenda is big feet or small feet, another refers to giant head and then another to 'will ya marry me'. These interpretations can only be in a discussion as we try to communicate with words the meaning of what we think we understood.

Good that Mike answered and I hope we don't tear each other out or try to dissect English word a thousand fold.

Have a nice day and lets just enjoy.

Jenny

I see "agenda" as the new buzz word around the mud world. Soon to take its place next to briefcase. Mike is a wordsmith of the first order. He knows how to take a seemingly mundane everyday word and infuse it with meanings layer upon layer. That's why I love reading him, even when I disagree. Even when I think I feel the sting or his ire.

At first I took "agenda" as a negative. And then I mulled it over and over in my mind. Sure, it still could be a slight, could be. But I have to agree with another poster.....we all have an agenda. Just look at the post count of Dirty Jobs on the Discovery site. Deadliest Catch maybe this channel's number one show but when it comes to participation on the website, Dirty Jobs if not the King, is a close contender for the crown. Mike for all his participation and even moments when he is not here has a board and following that helps his position professionally speaking. There is not a day this place isn't churning with ideas or conversation. He has tapped into something profoundly pertinent with those who come here. Even for those he has irritated.

There takes a degree of commitment and caring even to voice disapproval. He is and old hand at this. It is far worst to have disinterest than it is to be disapproved of. Disapproval can be turned the other way. Disinterest is far harder to change.
