When you were in Cleveland, Georgia, you mentioned in the introduction to the area that it was in the Appalachian mountains (or near or something).
You pronounced it, "Apple Ay Shuns." "A" as in "Ace."
I went to college in the Appalachian mountains - up in North Carolina. So, believe me when I tell you that the best way to tell that someone is from out of town is by hearing them pronounce "Appalachian" like that.
Natives, especially those around North Carolina, South Carolina, Virginia, Kentucky area, pronounce it "Apple Atch Shuns."
I'm from Louvull KY and we always pronounced them Ap pa latch chen. the people who moved in next door were from the coal mining district and I can't begin to speak like they did.
