Just wanted to take a moment to say thank you for shining a light on the dirty jobs and the men and women who do them. My Grandfather was a hot tar roofer. During the course of his career he fell three stories down an unfinished elevator shaft (breaking both knees, cracking all the ribs on his left side and dislocating his right elbow), had the kettle flash and burn most of his upper body with second and third degree burns, and slipped and landed his left elbow in a bucket of hot tar, nearly burning all the flesh clean off. Happy to say he survived all this, and much more.
Each week you bring the lives of hard working Americans into our homes. You enlighten your audience through knowledge and humor. Your show is one of very, very few that makes me laugh outloud and feel educated at the same time. Keep up the great work!
Question - Besides Dirty Jobs, my favorite thing to watch on Discovery is Shark Week. Last year you hosted a couple of segments...will we get to see you again this year?
Hi Shannon Marie, I am sorry you grandfather had so many accidents. You make him sound like a trooper. Anyways, as you've probably seen Mike is out and about. Hopefully he'll stop by and say hello.
