SCTV was one of my favorites too. My favorite episode is still the one where they did the spoof of Fantasy Island.

I miss Twin Peaks and China Beach.

Lisa, have you watched 2-1/2 men (which is pretty smutty, IMO), or How I Met Your Mother? Both on Monday (sorry Mike) and fairly funny.

Neil Patrick Harris in HIMYM is genius.

I miss MASH. Flipped thru channels and ended up on TVLand watching old MASH episodes. Good stuff. SCTV was grand. One of my favorite shows. "That's my marmalade!"

Deadwood - Awesome show.

China Beach - I liked that show. I also like My So Called Life. I WAS Angela.

I adored Absolutely Fabulous.

When they brought back Family Guy, I did the happy dance for days, silently of course since I admit to no one I watch the show. The crude, rude humor goes against my sweet and innocent nature. Wink

I too miss Deadwood. Shoot, we even have a poster of Deadwood hanging in our tv room and I even sent a letter into Entertainment Weekly about it and it was published a few years back. LOVE THAT SHOW, even though admittedly I had to watch a couple episodes a few times to actually get the gist of some of the scenes since they talked so quickly in dialogue which at time flew over my head. Very disappointed that HBO cancelled that one.

We also enjoyed The Sopranos and Carnivale.

Man, looking back, we sure get out money's worth from our HBO subscription, huh? At least we used to.

I love Family Guy, too. Have all the episodes on DVD. I don't know if you remember that one episode where Peter is at a recital which is just terrible and can't take it anymore and stands up in the middle of it, frustrated and yells "DONE!" and walks out. Yeah, my husband and I do that now. For instance yesterday at Target, looking at shampoo, pretty inane stuff, some woman cuts me off, shoves right in front of me. I raised up my hands, yelled "DONE" and walked away, leaving the woman slack jawed and bewildered.

But of course, Tracey, you are a delicate flower. Big Grin

I miss the Wire too. I have it on my list of DVD box sets to get. Along with Rome, Deadwood, Dexter, The Kids In The Hall and possibly Journeyman if NBC will release any. I loved that show, shame it got cancelled.

My goal is to get Deadwood on DVD as soon as humanly possible. Is The Tudors out on DVD yet? That's another I know I want, and I haven't even seen an episode yet.

SCTV was great. I want more 3-D! I also miss Frasier, Chicago Hope, Northern Exposure, ER in the Clooney days, Roseanne, Mike Douglas, Dr Quinn and so many more. We don't have HBO so missed out on the whole Sopranos and Deadwood thing.

The second season of The Tudors premiers tonight. Since old Henry had six wives I'm not sure how long the mini-series will run. They took a lot of time with Anne Boylen (sp?). But then again it did take seven years for him to finally clear the way to marry her. And after all that trouble. Anne got pregnant several times. Only to produce two children one a son who died after several months and a girl (which was not what Henry wanted who went on to become Queen Elizabeth), Catherine his first wife died of cancer.

That show has so many great one liners. Sometimes I wonder how they get things past censorship.

I remember the epi you refer to, Sarah and, had I watched you in Target, I would have known immediately where you received your inspiration.

Delicate flower.. *snicker*

Dani - The Tudors is great and I do believe season one is available for purchase. If you belong to Netflix or Blockbuster, you can rent it too. I am looking forward to tonight's season premiere.

Gayle - I forgot about Kids In The Hall. That show was genius.

Thanks Tracey. I may have to sign up with Netflix.

Gayle, thanks for the synopsis. I've done a lot of reading regarding Henry and his six wives. Anne was a right beeotch, but she held his interest the longest. She must've been doing something right..or wrong as she later found out.

You know that a new book just came out with a title of "The Other Boleyn". I saw it this morning at Borders and apparently it is about Ann Boleyn's sister who, at one time was quite friendly with King Henry but didn't keep his attention quite like Ann.

When HBO cancelled Deadwood, David Milch said something about wrapping up the series in 2, 2 hour movies. Unfortunately, this was only said to pacify those who were upset over the demise of the series and it has been since leaked that those movies are not to take place. As Al Swearengen would say C********r!

Sarah,

Eek I can picture Al saying it right now!

With so many fans of the show, it makes you wonder why it was ever cancelled. I saw Charlie Rose's interview with Ian McShane, and it seems that he still doesn't know why it was cancelled.

Becca

P.S. There were pigs on that show, too.
