you know there Dawn King, there is no time for having lunch with friends or getting nails done. At least not for all SAHM. And how dare you call our children animals? Who in the heck do you think you are? Trust me, you are no better them i am. I can guarentee you that you pee sitting down just like all moms do. I have not a problem with any mother. Whether they work outside the home or not. But i do have a problem with people who call them selves women and have more of a childish attitude problem then my 7 yr old daugher. On the days i can stay home and not help on the family ranch, when my children, they are not a litter, are at school, i'm doing all the house work, shopping and everything that it takes to keep the house up and running, so that when they do get home i can devote all of my time to them. So please, just because i don't have a college education doesn't mean that all i do is pop out kids (i had my tubes tide at the age of 21 so i can't have more then 2) so that i have an excuse NOT to work, go and eat lunch everday with my friends and go and get my nails done. How can you be so hateful? It's like you have this deep down hatered for SAHM? Why is that?

Noone has any business judging anyone's decision on whether to work OR stay home. Different things work for different families and it's nobody's business what others do. If someone is happy and confident with their own decision they would have no desire to put others down who chose differently. I have been a working mom and a stay at home mom and I have been on both sides of the criticism fence.

Just want to weigh in on a few points.

1.Yes there are bad SAHM's as well as bad WOHM's however all things being equal a good SAHM is better than a "good" WOHM. When the child is YOURS you LOVE them more. NOWAY does a childcare provider LOVE your child more than you. NO WAY does a childcare provider care more about that child's future than you. NO WAY will that Childcare provider willing throw their body in front of a bus for YOUR child. When you work extremely hard for something you are more invested in the outcome. It is more precious to you and you value and respect it more.

2.I've always wondered how anyone can get ahead financially by both parents working outside of the home and paying for Daycare. Good quality Day care costs a fortune. Isn't one parent basically paying for daycare? Unless one is lucky to have a loving Grandparent or close relative "raise" the child I don't see it. I'd think the Daycares that were "cheap" are basically in the "You get what you pay for" category. If that is where the child will spend the better part of their day, then that is most certainly not equal to staying home with a loving parent.

to be honest yes for most situations a quality day care is expensive, however there are options to quaitly day care with caring and invested staff at little or no cost. I know this first hand, my boyfriend worked at the YMCA for over 2 years, he got paid minimum wage to one of the most important jobs in the world. The YMCA has oportunites for people of low income who can apply for low or free daycare. Many of the counselors who work at YMCA know they can get more money at a more expensive private day care but thoughly enjoy working and helping children. Most people dont take a low paying job because they hate or dont care about the work, many of these people except low wages because they love what they do and undertand the financail difficulties each parent may be experiencing. And I know that many of the day care staff would have done what ever they can to protect all the children physically as well as keep thier best interests at heart. Hopefully this will open your mind and even heart to understanding another persons position or decisions in life. Im not saying you have to agree with it, just that you are no longer ignorant to a subject.

I agree, I hate the idea that so many people are so quick to criticize someone who they know litte or nothing about. It is sad that instead of supporting one another or trying to help another mother we instead bash, name call and put down the other side.

What ever the position it is a person's choice to live thier life. No one way is right for all nor should all be forced to live one way.

The bottom line is that the interwebs are chock full of experts.

It's best not to take anything you read here too seriously.

Cheers.
