I have to admit that I watch this show and think, wow... if I had the chance to be a complete SAHM (currently a WAHM), I would JUMP at it! Not that I think these women shouldn't have the desire to work and expand their lives, but I myself am 100% happy being home.
In my part of the country, SAHMs are rare. Our economy just doesn't support single income families. We have the highest number of working moms in the nation. I have found a compromise and do home daycare. Most of the time, I don't mind. When it comes time for doctor/dentist appointments and such, or even just needing any time off, it is a total and complete pain. I have all these families who rely on me completely, and to take one day off puts them home for the day or finding back up care.
