OK, WHERE TO START???? IF YOU CHOOSE TO STAY AT HOME THAT IS GREAT...... FOR YOU. IF YOU CHOOSE TO HAVE A FAMILY AND WORK AT THE SAME TIME THATS AWESOME TOO. BUT YOU SAHM NEED TO GROW UP AND STOP BASHING ON WORKING MOTHERS. I AM IN THE U.S NAVY AND I HAVE A 15 MONTH OLD AND I AM ABOUT TO HAVE OUR SECOND CHILD, MY HUSBAND IS ALSO ON THE NAVY. I BUST MY BUTT SO MY CHILDREN WILL HAVE THE BEST LIFE POSSIBLE AND HAVE THE THINGS I COULDNT HAVE AS A CHILD. MY MOM WAS ALSO A WORKING MILITARY MOM SHE WAS IN THE NAVY FOR 12 YRS RAISING ME BY HERSELF. I THINK SHE DID A GREAT JOB MY MOM IS MY BEST FRIEND A GREAT MOTHER AND ALWAYS KNOWS HOW TO MAKE ME FEEL BETTER WHEN SOMETHING IS WRONG. I KNOW NOT EVERY WOMAN CAN DO WHAT I DO AND I RESPECT THAT. BUT DO NOT SIT THERE AND SAY MY CHILD IS DEPRIVED OF ANYTHING JUST CAUSE I CHOOSE TO WORK. MY CHILDREN HAVE EVERYTHING THEY COULD POSSIBLY NEED OR WANT. I SPEND ALL OF MY FREE TIME WITH MY CHILDREN I TAKE THEM TO THE ZOO, TO PARKS, TO THE BEACH. I MAKE SURE THEY EAT ALL THE RIGHT FOOD AND WATCH THE EDUCATIONAL TV SHOWS THE ONLY DIFFERENCE IS THEY GO TO MY BEST FRIENDS HOUSE FOR 8 HRS A DAY WHILE I AM AT WORK. WE ARE NOT IN THE 15TH CENTURY ANYMORE SO STOP ACTING LIKE IT.

I agree. My husband and I work our butts off to make sure my son has a great education at his day care.

Good for you girl! Congrats on the second baby!

OH YA AND I FORGOT TO SAY, MY SON STARTED WALKING AT 8 MONTHS BY HIMSELF CAN ALREADY TALK AND I AM TEACHING HIM SIGN LANGUAGE TOO JUST TO SEE IF IT HELPS LATER ON DOWN THE ROAD. I GET JUST AS MUCH DONE WITH HIM AS ANY STAY AT HOME MOM WITH THEIR CHILDREN. OH YA I GO TO SCHOOL ONLINE TO ON TOP OF EVERYTHING ELSE. ITS HARD , I AM ALWAYS BUSY AND I AM NOT GOING TO LIE SOMETIMES A BIT OVERWELMING BUT IT IS WORTH IT. BEING A WORKING MOTHER IS NOT FOR THE FAINT OF HEART IT IS ONLY FOR THE STRONG WILLED WOMEN OF THE WORLD. I WOULD LOVE TO SEE A MAN TRY DO WHAT I DO EVERY DAY OF MY LIFE OR ANY OTHER WORKING MOTHER FOR THAT MATTER.

You sound like my mom! :-) I love it! I put an S on your chest, and as a child of a working mom who did EVERYTHING for us, made us breakfast, lunch, and dinner every day, did homework, played games, sang songs, read books, went to the Zoo, went to the park, went to the library and the museum, who coached the little league team, who encouraged us to be involved in activities (which kept us busy when she worked and allowed us to have interests and passions and joys) and then attended EVERY recital, play, game, concert, etc. Who helped do science projects, who was the President of our PTA... Whew! I get exhausted just thinking about my Super Mom! So to you, my mom, all the super moms out there (including the SAHMs, 'cause I'm not about bashing anybody!), I tip my hat to you.

And my mom was my best friend, my confidant, and I couldn't imagine my life being any better had she been at home. What matters is that she was always there. And I never had to look far for her love and support.

I totally agree. Everyone makes choices in life and deciding to work or stay home is one. Neither one is bad so no one has a right to put down the others choice unless they are just self-righteous or secretly unhappy with their decision which I'm not saying you SAHM are because I don't know you. However, I chose to work and I go to school as well but that doesn't mean my son isn't well taken care of. He goes to a great school, participates in swimming, soccer, and baseball, and eats 3 meals a day plus some. I never miss any events and my weekends are totally dedicated to him. I love being a working mom because not only am I able to provide him with a better life but I'm also able to be a good role model for him as far as work ethics and other values that I teach him.
