I am a SAHM. This was not easy, after YEARS of "unexplained infertility" we finally were able to adopt. Then again a year later, then a miscarriage and D&C. It is NOT easy being a SAHM, but what makes more of a difference in the world. I have read working moms say they can't afford to stay home, and yet, somehow, my husband and I manage for me to stay home. Maybe what is more important is spending time taking your kids to the park, instead of being able to afford the huge screen TV so they can veg for hours and hours. The working moms who are upset, why? You have made your choice. It is obviously more important to you. What is sick, and wrong, is this show, and what it is doing. Like society isn't screwed up enough with children who go home to empty houses so head out with so called friends, who get them into trouble, and there is no parent home to teach those good kids what to do when faced with bad situations. Working moms, I know it isn't always a choice, but believe me, there are ways to stay home. You really don't NEED all the material things in life, and maybe that is where the sacrifice has to be made. Or maybe, you are happier being a working mom, then please, don't have more kids. Why have them if you are happier being away from them? SAHM, it is thankless, and hard, and monotonous, but in the end, when you tuck your children into bed, and they wrap their arms around you and say "I love you, mom" it is all worth it. There is nothing in the world that pays more than that. That does NOT mean you can't go to the spa and get a much needed break from time to time, or soak in a tub, or read a book. I am lucky to be a SAHM, and I am lucky to have children at all. I wish this show would reconsider what it is doing to society, homes, family and women in exchange for ratings.

It's not material things we need, it's rent, groceries, prescriptions, etc.

If I could stay at home, I would, and I did. But we went into debt. One salary can't pay for rent.

And yes, we barely afford day care with everything else. But my son gets so much more than he did at home with me. I don't have a degree in child education. The woman at the school do. They are teaching him so much more than I could at home. He has friends.

What makes me mad is the judgement from other women. Why can't we have the choice?

I applaud this show for bringing back that choice to the very few that even have that.

Most of us don't have a choice. We have debt.

I suppose for you it is easy to pass judgment because you are so closed minded. Just because two parents work does not necessarily mean that materials items are needed. I hope you are not implying that SAHMs are better parents because that is not the case.

I am a hard working mom,and yes there are times when i wish i didn't have to go to work, but my children are in school, there is no reason for me, not to go to work. Some families need to have two incomes in their homes, i would be a liar if i said i didn't enjoy having a big screen tv, or being able to afford an Xbox for my son,i love my children very much, but i think that teaching them resposibilities, like going to work, is an important part of raising them. So congrats to all you SAHM's, if you can afford it, but some of us have to work outside of the home.
