It's taken me a few hours to recover after watching the MV Agusta episode of Twist the Throttle. How could anyone produce a program about that legendary manufacturer of the four cylinder "fire engine" road-racers, and NOT include the glorious sounds they made? Instead, we heard elevator music as brief shots of Hailwood and Agostini flashed across the screen. Shame on you! Go dig up some Sound Stories recordings of the Isle on Man TT battles between Gilera, MV Agusta and Norton in the 1950's and 60's and learn something about the beautiful noises those bikes made.
I have to agree, it would have been great to hear some of the motorcycle sounds that were being spoken of in the episode. I have a few fond memories of the sounds made by long gone bikes. I also have to say that it is not someting often done to record the sounds from the race bikes before more modern cameras. Anybody got a recording of a V8 Moto Guzzi?
