Hi i'm looking to get a hebrew lettering tat that goes down both my chest and back but need help with the translations. Somebody told me to try a rabi, but I would rather see if there is somewhere online where I can do it. Not only do i need the translation, I also would like the lettering to look good and have it's own sense of style. I checked out Liveneedle for tattoos but I'm always reluctant to pay for anything online, even tho they have a great reputation. I just don't like the fact of paying for anything online. So if somebody can please tell me a free source or other alternatives that would be great. Thanks
Regardless of whether you find something free or decide to go with a paid service, I would still have it double-checked by a rabbi. I mean, this is going to be something permanent on your body so why take the risk of using a bad translation? Just googling "kanji tattoos" will give you endless examples of people who have put all sorts of crazy, mistranslated nonsense on their bodies. If you're going to be using Hebrew, it must be for a particular reason so why not meet with a rabbi who has experience with the language and the heritage attached to it?
I want to get kanji lettering one day but I won't do it until I'm somewhat fluent in the japanese language and have a dozen fluent friends who can double-check my translation and calligraphy.
