I know tattoo removal may not be popular on this site but unfortunately sometimes we get tattoo's we regret. I have one and I would like to remove it but I have heard mixed reviews on different procedures to have it done. Laser sounds scary and expensive. I'm skeptical about the vanishing creams. Tatgone Ink is interesting, but does it really work? Anyone out there know their stuff when it comes to this subject? I could really use some sound advice. (By the way the Tattoo I have is 10 years old, the colors have really faded into a greenish black, it's about 4 inches by 3 inches and in a spot that doesn't see the sun often Wink).

If it's that faded lasering might not take so long...Tatbegone(sp?) and the ink you are talking about has similar affect. The ink is called a neutral ink and is applied with a tattoo gun and also like the Tat be Gone it attacks the ink and separates it from your melonin and pushes it out through the surface of your skin. It will cause the skin to blister and ooze and is quite uncomfortable. It's very much like an allergic reaction one might have to ink..If it's really faded you might be able to do a cover...is there something else you might want in that spot...or is it because of the location?

Its mostly why I got it. It was a wedding gift to my ex-husband and has his name and my name along each side of the tattoo. I am soon to be remarried and I know the whole thing just bothers my new fiancee and he would just rather see it gone. It isn't as faded as I thought but definately a dark greenish blur. (I got it at Island Avenue Tattoo in Pittsburgh, PA)

Hi,
I have a bunch of tattoo's but I too needed one removed. I went with the laser. It was painful and I feel it was not worth it. I am constantly asked what the scar or bruise is.... it looks horriable. I would have rather had the tattoo. AND it was very costly. I had one DR preform the 1st 8 treatments and another try to "fix" the discloration. I say a cover up is better.

Just don't buy Tat-B-Gone. I used it for 4 months with absolutely NO results. They say their website says they can ( and will ) keep my money whether or not it works!
