I live in Akron, OH & while I sorta liked the place I got my tat a couple years ago, I am just not sure I really LIKED it, ya know? I mean, you have some dude punching holes in your skin - you want to be comfortable, right? So, how did you guys all choose your artists & does anyone know who in the Akron area is the best? Thanks!

No I don't know what you mean??? YOu didn't like the tattoo??? You didn't like the personality of the artist??? You didn't like the atmosphere of the shop??

I looked for...

1. Cleaniness
2. quality of artistic ablilty(The artist had to be more than good he/she had to great).
3. I had to connect to their personality
4. The atmosphere...the artist and staff and staff had to be professional yet personable and treat you with total respect..after all they are handling your body and I wanted be treated like a person not just another bodypart getting a tattoo. The shop also needed to be well decorated and have a relaxing feeling.

I found all those things and there was no one criteria more important than another. The shop had to meet everyone of my requirements or no deal.

What I mean, basically, is the atmosphere was a little bit overly "can't you tell we're tough-guys because we've overdone the goth interior & yes, we know you're paying for our work & that's how we're going to treat you"...It's not really that great of an atmosphere - at least for me.

Thanks for your advice.
