well i have yet to get a tattoo, and i really want to get my first. i just was wondering if yall experts would help me out in a good spot to place it it will be kind of big. i was thinking of getting a memorial tattoo to mi abuelo (my grandfather). i have two ideas, which is better? the first would be a picture of him with our lady of guadalupe to the side with is name and dates. the second would be just our lady of guadalupe with his name dates and rest in peace or may God be with you. which one is better and where should i get it on me?
i would love to hear back from everyone!!! *miamiinkgirl*
1. Do you have a good portrait artist that would make the picture of your grandad look good?
2. Which design do you love the look of the most?
I'd first go with the design that is going to mean the most to you for the rest of your life - but in saying that because of the design and the size you'll need to ensure the person working on you is credible.
Start buying tattoo magazines - see the recurring artists in your area - research on the internet etc.
As for where you should get it. Again that is up to personal preference. I got my first tat across my lower back - which hurt like h*ll but I am happy with the outcome and love it more and more each day. That tat had special meaning to me and I love the placement.
You need to consider if this is going to be your only piece (I'll bet you get more after your first) and if not, choose a place that will give the design justice.
Your tattooist can help you with placement, size etc.
