I was wondering what kind of enviroment most on here stuck to when they got inked.

Question:
Where do you typically get your tattoos?

Choices:
One shop I've been going to for years.
One artist that I've kind of followed. (this could be multiple shops)
A few shops that are in my area.
I usually go with some friends and I let them steer the way.
I really don't care. I throw a dart at the yellow pages.

 

I live in a pretty small city and don't have many options. I have 4 tats now. 2 are done by a local lady. 1 by an old friend (the clevage 1 I think you know about). And I just got my latest 1 on Saturday @ the Montreal Tattoo Fair from a Tom who lives in Colorado. I guess I like to explore different options. They have to be pros and I have to see a portfolio first. NO APPRENTICES!!! I would definetely go back to Tom again if he comes back next year. He was gentle, talkative and cute too.

My first was in Dayton, OH. A well known shop that a friend of mine had his first piece done at the week before (closest to where I lived at the time).
Second was while I was stationed in Germany.
Third was when I was stationed in El Paso.
Most recent was outside Indy, the best artist in Indiana IMHO. The only one I "researched".

So I guess my answer is "all of the above".

Ya..I suppose I shoulda created a slot for "all the above"....
