So, my little one (6) was home from school today with a cold. It was really kind of nice just hanging out on the couch with her watching tv and movies all day, but by the end of it, I was so tired of the darned 'boob tube.' I just didn't want to push her to engage in much, but any ideas out there about something nice to do on a sick day that's not too energy-sapping for a little one, but that's something other than starting at that darned screen all day? Would love to hear! Thanks!
It took me awhile to get over the "don't mix the colors!" ... but I'm okay with it now! Even though ours is a lovely shade of green/grey - my kids will play with it for at least 30 mins or so... usually, independently.
I had one (2nd grader) home last week also. I find if I schedule out the day - 1 hour of tv, 1 hour of bed rest, 30 mins of reading, etc... that helps with the monotony. Do things in different rooms!
