as i read here on the boards, i find alot of your names fascinating. why don't we share our names and how we chose them.
i am korkiemama. my yorkie's name is korkie. he is tiny and has the fur and color and feistiness of a meerkat. my little man helps me get through hard times and gives me lots of love.
I am kittyglitter. It's also my name in lots of other random forums. I love kitties, and I love anything glittery or sparkly...particulary lip gloss. I am known to spend hours in MAC and Sephora playing with said glittery stuff. My name is also a play on the phrase "kitty litter." tee hee

I got mine because I was trying to think of a creative name that was meerkat related and I thought about attila and how he was such a little cutie and remembered Attila the Hun and comined hun and cutie pie to form honeypie!
Southern, because im from the South. Meerkat, because meerkats RULE!!! And MD, because my other favorite show is House.(season premeir the 25th, yay) thats where my name comes from. SMSYIHT
I wanted Nini a name that I have been known by for over 30 years by grandchildren and nieces and nephews. But "the system" wouldn't let me. So I chose NeimanNewman.....One of my cats and my own last name.

Red Foxes are among my favorite of animals. Very beautiful and such a rare sight. (don't worry, Meerkats are tied ;p )
and Praying mantises, i had a strange incident with. Me and a friend of mine were camping, and we got onto the subject of praying mantises, which neither of us have seen in years.
so we talked about it for a while and soon after, there's one right on a branch RIGHT outside the flap of the tent I had. and since then I see praying mantises a lot, either the insect, or on a movie, or a cartoon, or a book.
When I joined the forum, there didn't appear to be many others from my region. I figured it would help others from the area more easily identify me as a local. What I didn't really count on was that my longer name would push together the width of my posts, thus appearing that everything I write is longer & more wordy than it really is.
Three seperate occasions I tried to join the forum and each time a tornado was touching down and the warning sirens went off.....I thought it was a sign....
My name is my first two initials & last name...blah. I'm thinking about changing it & I wanted it to be kat related since most of the other names on the board seem to be, but I am horribly uncreative & cannot think of a thing :/
Let's see, I dare say mine is both easy and obvious. I like Zaphod and know that he's "The Man."
The first scene I saw of MM was episode 2 of season one when Zaphod stared down Carlos. My thought was something like, "I don't know what he is, but he's definately "The Man." It was the next commercial break that told me I was watching MM.
In that one scene I learned two lessons that serve me well in life:
1. When you are "The Man" you don't need to put on a big display to prove it, you just are.
2. No one has to tell you that you are "The Man", you just are.
I love how Zaphod handled the situation. He didn't pronk or chase or growl or anything. He just stared Carlos down. It's like he knew that he was the DM so he didn't have a thing to prove it. I've tried to learn from that scene. It's a good reminder in times of stress that strength does not come from a big mouth or a sharp tongue. Strength is that quiet, calm expression on the face of the Mighty Zaphod as he looked at Carlos.
Then again, sometimes I think I read too much into these creatures. Long live Zaphod, the James Bond of the Kalahari. (And we're talking about the REAL Bond, Sean Connery, not that Lazenby guy!)

Flower's sweetest song is Mozart. Flower is awesome. And its been a priviledge to "meet" her. She is so multi faceted. And all her children carry a characteristic of her, whether its leadership, bravery, drive,compassion, etc... But Mozart! Oh my resilent Mozart! She displays the sweet side of Flower the most. Her sweetest song. I wanted a name that reflected that...
