Poucette is actually my sisters cats name, who is so sweet and adorable, figured if i used my pets the name would be way to long, i've 2 cats and a dog.

My daughter was born in 1999, and I am the black sheep, or "rebel" of my family. I also live in the south, so the rebel works with that too!

My name comes from my cats' names. I adopted 2 cats from a local shelter and named them Peanut(female) and Buddy (Male). Both are brown tabbies. Buddy was born in March and Peanut was born in April of 2000. I use this screen name elsewhere on the Web and since my memory sometimes fails me, I needed something that would be easy to remember.
From reading all the other posts, I can see we have some really creative members.

Well, I played Proteus in "The Two Gentlemen of Verona" in college. I also played Iago, but liked the name Proteus better even though the character was a cad. I added the Kat for obvious reasons.

Titus1809, one of my German Shepherds is named Titus Andronicus. I name my pets after Shakespearian characters;
German Shepherd-Titus from Titus Andronicus
German Shepherd-Bianca from Taming of the Shrew
Cat-Henry from Henry V
Conure-Nym from Henry V
German Shepherd-Oberon from Midsummers Night Dream.

I guess that qualifies me as an official nerd.

hi everybody. just want to wish you all a wonderful thanksgiving. be sure and share alot of love with all that food!
i didn't have an accident sort of. i ran into a handle that sticks out of a hydraulic jack that they roll under a car. it was pitch black out and i walked full force right into the bar that sticks out. good thing i had a stiff pair of jeans on! so it's like i have appendicitis on the left side. so for about three months i'll just have to sit here and hurt. thank you for caring. will check in again soon. love and hugs all around!

Hey Korkiemama, I'm glad to hear you feel good enough to join us. We were all worried and sent you many prayers and good wishes along with grubs, millipedes and a warm hug or two.

Hope you didn't do any permanent damage to anything vital. Makes me hurt to just think about it. I think we've all had accidents at one time or another. We're just glad to have you back in the burrow where all these nursekats, and therapykats and just plain full-of-lovekats can take care of you.

I think the thread was be scent marked, but I've traveled around so much today I'm lost. Wish this radio collar had a homing device on it.

Happy Thanksgiving. I'm giving thanks right now that you're back

just an update. i still hurt. i guess that the doctor wasn't kidding when she said three months. anyway, we're about to get hit with an ice storm. but i'm ready. for those of you in the path of this or any storm where you might lose power, get oil lamps. the last time we lost power, i had an oil lamp on and it kept my livingroom pretty warm. but i went and got a coleman stove today. i just hope that it doesn't get as bad as kansas and that area. i feel so bad for those people. first the fires in california, and now ice. so i wish you all to be safe and warm.
my tommie (yorkie) jumped off the couch the other day and sprained his leg. but he'll be ok in a few days the vet said.
i noticed a few new names. so if you are new here, let's hear from you. hugs

Hey Korkiemama, glad to see you up and around. Sorry to hear you are still in so much pain. Prayers for a speedy recovery, and NO ICE. Wish I could magically transport all of you down here where it's warm.

Hey Korkiemama, so sorry to hear about your accident, and that your still in pain sister. You stay safe and warm, that coleman stove is a great idea. I live in kansas, next to the Oklahma boarder. I have a coleman stove and several oil lamps too. So far, we haven't lost any power here.(yet) We are still getting freezing rain, but are prepared. Just found this thread, so sending you warm hugs sister, and be safe!

My name isn't meerkat related either Frown I wasn't really thinking when I signed up (too distraught over Flower's death to think up anything creative). Clonus is a nickname a teacher gave me in 7th grade when we were taking a test. The question was something about who created the scientific naming system (Carolus Linneaus spp?), and I couldn't remember, and it sounded kind of like clonus, so that's what I wrote. The 86 is the year I was born. I will be changing my name soon- look for updates! Wink

Clonus,
Your screen name doesn't have to be meerkat related. A funny nickname is always good, and it's certainly unique.
