Tonight the the world of film is sending contact calls around the globe to all Meerkat Manor fans in their burrows.
The Sleeper Hit of the TriBeCa Film Festival 2008 premiers tonight in London.
Just look at who is attending...wonder if Zaphod will walk the red carpet AND which lovely lady will be lucky to be by his side?
"We're having our "premiere" in London this evening at the Curzon Cinema, Mayfair. I think it'll be a very special occasion. The whole film crew (some have flown from South Africa especially), Tim Clutton-Brock, 18 others from Cambridge, friends, family... "
Recently voted one of London’s best cinemas by Time Out readers the Curzon Mayfair cinema is everything you would expect from this exclusive part of town: luxurious and tasteful.
Screen one is one of the biggest in central London with two Royal boxes, each seating four persons. This renowned cinema presents up to twelve premieres a year and many other gala events, so you never know which celebrity or Royal personage last sat in your seat - especially if you are in a Royal box
If only our own Kalahari Royal, Queen Flower, could be in attendance tonight. She would outshine the stars in the heavens.
Oh this sounds like a fairytale or a dream. I wish I could be there. Can you just imagine what this will be like? Tim-Clutton-Brock and all of the others from Cambridge to witness one of the most beautiful creatures I know. WOW!!!! Oh Flower you really deserve to be on the big screen. Bless your heart. And yes, ccatz, she would outshine all of the stars in the heavens because she already does.....maybe dreams really do come true....
Let's see if Zaphod was there he would be in a tux and then his lady would be all decked out in diamonds or rubies and they would have her purse full of millepedes to munch on while the movie is playing and then Zaphod would be crying silently seeing his beloved Flower on the big screen.....
Hello c9691! Good to see you in the burrow, with all that is going on, I was getting a little worried!
It is so wonderful that our beautiful Queen will once again be seen in all of her glory.
Yes, Zaphod has something to be proud about. I think it would be cool if he went with his daughters! I certainly hope he does find a ladykat, but the thought of the family being there together is kinda cool!
"Just living is not enough. You must have sunshine, freedom and a little Flower..."
You and ccatz have covered things so beautifully, I will not try to add to perfection!

I meant that the movie premiered in an actual theater (in London), and not in a festival, even if it is the famous TriBeCa Film Festival; it doesn't seem likely that it will be released in theaters in the US (since we know about the conflicting interests of producers, and distributors).
How disappointing that a week after its premiere at the Tribecca Film Festival the only information available on the internet is a few pictures on the Getty Images website. I would have thought at least one meerkat fan would have posted information about the movie.
Perhaps someone will find information on the internet about the London Premier. I have looked but my searches never seem to find anything of relevance.
Ooh, cool. Does this have anything to do with thread "Looking for New York's Biggest Meerkat Fan!"? If so, what a fantastic opportunity! We may finally have genuine MM fans to start spreading the word!
There might be a connection between the MM Interactive Producer's looking for MM fans in two cities, and the TriBeCa Film Festival. Maybe some kind of promotional interview for the movie, and the tv show?

Did you mention before that the Meerkat Manor movie is not going to be released widely in the UK either (due to the same "problems", producers, and distributors), or am I wrong?
Unfortunately it is the same situation, but I also read a TriBeCa article that the film category MMTSB was in "SPOTLIGHT", was for films that will eventually be released. So who knows, maybe, all is not lost.
I live in the U.S., so I thought that the movie premiere on May 25th would be aired in all countries that have Animal Planet, but it sounds like it will be aired on Animal planet in some countries, and in theatres in other countries, is that true?
It seems that the Meerkat Manor movie is not going to be released in theaters (it might in the future), but it will air on tv (AP). The other movie, "The Meerkats" is going to be released in theaters.
