Yep, I reaqlized my error soon after posting. Me being brilliant! There are still several I haven't heard about lately. Anyone know where Mitch is this season? Am hoping something good happens for Sophie.

I believe Hannibal died last year from disease. I dont think you will see an episode about it because when the Cammandos first appeared in Season 4, they made the comment that Nakita was looking for a mate since Hannibal died.
Mitch went roving and has not been seen since December 2007. He has been played by other meerkats this season.

I started watching about halfway through last season, and was addicted immediately. I record every episode, so that I do not miss any. My question is what became of the Starskys and the Zappas. I haven't seen anything of them this season.

It is my understanding that a contract has been signed for a Season Five. Zettak or Pronker will know more about this, as they are a wealth of information.

Originally they had planned for five seasons of Meerkat Manor. There has been much speculation that this will be the final season, but as of yet, we have no confirmation that this is true. This speculation started before season four began. I, personally, am not worried yet. As we all know, a lot can happen in a short time in the Kalahari.

The Zappas are still out there. They have moved away from the Whiskers territory, so you probably wont see them. Even when they were featured, the Zappa were played by another group called The Young Ones. As far as I know, the Zappas DF has had trouble having litters.

hi i am confused as how shakespear dissapeared i watched the episode where he was babysitting the pups then he went head to head with big sy then it said he just dissapeared how can he just dissapear i believe he is still alive uva wise the body wud be either in or close to the burrow where the pups were also when is series 5 going 2 be shown getting bored of watching repeats now lol

 I've always known that Shakespeare is dead and nobody wants to face the truth. I named my cat Shakespeare. God love him my little baby that is mentally retarded because of what has happened to him. If the researchers could go back to that burrow and have cameras go down in there, they would find out that Shakespeare is down there dead. I've always known that if they could go back they will find what everybody has been looking for. I am sorry for busting everyone's bubble but that's just the way it is. God love everybody and please pray for my cat Shakespeare. He is special Ed and he is a lynks point Siamese and I am so sorry about the way the previous owners treated him. They kept him a bird cage and I named him after the couragous meerkat Shakespeare. God love his heart. We call him "Shakes". I hope everyone understands. |

Shakespeare did not die the way MM says that he did. He was NOT babysitting pups and did not go head to head w/ Big SI. Shakespeare dispersed from Whiskers to go roving and was not seen since. So it remains a mystery what happened to shakespeare.

I have an idea for a meerkat special until season 5 is made and aired. It would be called "The Life And Times Of Zaphod". It would be aired on December 9 when Zaphod turns 10 years old. Surely the KMP has ample footage of Zaphod covering his entire life. Zaphod's life is certainly interesting and long enough to merit a special.

The babysitter was a female, and unfortunately, I don't know what happened to her. However, I do know that Shakespeare disappeared shortly before the burrow raid, perhaps to go roving, and was not seen since.

This may have been answered a long time ago, but I know in the past some people have wondered if it is possible to send private messages through this forum site. The answer is no, but there are forum sites where you can. For instance members of the Mastermeerkatforumcircle site can send private messages. A notice will come in your email about a private message in your inbox on mastermeerkatforumcircle and then you have to go to the site and to your inbox on the forum site. The message will be there and not in your email. Even if the notice about the message gets put in your junk box on your email it is still on mastermeerkatforumcircle. So in case you want to talk about the Meerkats in private you can do it on that site and probably other forum sites. Everybody knows Zaphod is the oldest meerkat in the KMP. But who is the 2nd oldest meerkat? The answer is Grumpy (VLF055) the DF of the Moomins family. She is 8 years old now. You know she's been around for a long time because her mom is from the Avatar mob (VAF002). That defunct group was one of the founding families of the KMP. Grumpy lost her last litter, but I hope she rebounds and has more. I wish her well.

Today, I noticed a couple of places where it said that Flower was also called Lady Day. Is this information accurate? 4Mitch, The oldest observed female was Mabili. When she died, she was 12. Zaphod is over 10, and no other observed male has been older when he died. The lifespan is longer when in captivity, up to 15. I hope this helps |

I haven't heard anything about season 5 of Meerkat Manor. As far as I know they are not filming it as of yet. I don't know if there will be a season 5 or not. If they decide to have season 5, they will probably film it in September of 2009 - April 2010 and then after the editing and story writing they will probably show it in the summer of 2010.
We are all keeping our paws crossed that they will decide to have a season 5

When do they show repeats of Season 4? (in the US)
The only time I know of that Meerkat Manor comes on is 2:00pm and 2:30pm Mon-Fri (Central time). But they are just looping through seasons 1 through 3 over and over. When can I see Season 4?

never4getflower, flower was called "lady day" in "ella, a meerkat's tale" which is the movie centered around tosca and all that she went thru the last times we saw her. i haven't actually seen the movie (certainly not for lack of trying!), it is very dificult to download. anyhow, supposedly in the movie lady day is the ruthless tyrant and portrayed as the villain. every now and then i try (unsuccessfully) to download the movie, as tosca is one of my all-time favorites and it would also be interesting to see flower get the "zorilla treatment" just once.

then mozart had her pups and kinkajou ate them. Don't know what happened to her pups, but de la soul was chased away, kinkajou died of starvation and after a brief time with wilson mozart was killed by a jackle. Seems my main girl couldn't catch a break |

Carlos did have TB. The wound on his face was a burst sore. The poor rover king was also painfully thin, even more so than would be expected at that point in the drought (another symptom). MM said it was an infected cut, because they prefer not to talk about TB on the show.

Haven't been on here for awhile. My computer crashed and had a Meerkat things saved. One of the things that I would really like to get back is someone had been to the Kalahari Project and took a bunch of pictures and downloaded them and gave a site where you can see them.
Does anyone have that website or know where I can locate it? Sure do miss the site and would like to get it back.

A lot of interesting thoughts-that's for sure. Personally, I think Animal Planet should answer to their loyal fan base on the air-rather than crank out a form letter. Follow a show-for years -fall in love with "the characters", and then tell everyone to check the internet.
Once in a while, wouldn't it be refreshing for someone-not just Animal Planet-to actually answer a question, and not say"check out our website" Ex- how many times will a customer in a store hear that in response to a question or concern, before they go shopping someplace else?
Don't get me wrong- I watch Animal Planet a alot. I've followed MM since day 1. But I wouldn't mind hearing something actually being said on the air. Some acknowledgement---
In regards to WF053 comment about TB not being discussed on the show-while season 4 was airing, our local cable company was running the video shorts-"behind the burrow"-the tb story was brought to light. It's a horrible disease-I won't discuss the toll it has taken. Again, now that everyone knows, it became another instance - I've seen the comments elsewhere- of "WHy were we lied to". That debate will go on as long as storytelling differs from real life.

The storyline of Shakespeare being attacked by Lazuli was partially manufactured. Shakespeare was babysitting one day, then the next day the researchers and filmmakers were not at Whiskers; but Lazuli were seen near the Whiskers breeding burrow. The next day, Shakespeare was missing. They made the Lazuli storyline because that sort of thing happens often in meerkat society, and it may have been what happened to Shakespeare. But ultimately, his fate is unknown. He may have been killed by another group or a predator, or he may have gone roving and joined a new group. He was never seen again and positively identified, although a meerkat who resembled him (it is unknown how much this kat resembled him, if it was just the same size and age, or if it was otherwise recognizable; Shakes would have had scars and maybe even still a small limp) was later seen foraging with an unhabituated group.

I've been watching Meerkat Manor for two years, and I finally got to see the reruns of seasons one and two. However, I can't figure out of Sophie is Flower's or Mozart's. Does anyone know?

RDfan, that is another of mms little tricks. "sophie" was originally played by mozart's daughter tina sparkle. sometime during season 3 or just after, she joined a new group. i'm thinking it was benzedrine's group. tina sparkle eventually left this group and wandered off alone. mm continued the "sophie" character in season 4 by sliding in ella as "sophie". she is flower's daughter, was called "mango" on the show as a pup, and is currently the df of the whiskers.
as i mentioned before this character continuation is used often on the show. big will dispearsed so they slid zarathustra (who later plays zorro) into the role. ofcourse mitch was replaced by machu pichu as well. and then there is "daisy" who was played by too many meerkats to count.

Character continuation is one of the more annoying things MM has done, but I was just about as bothered when they did not continue characters who were still there! They changed names between pups and adults, which was really confusing for those of us who had been watching for years.
For example,
Dizzy (Season 4) = Bing (Season 2)
Seacrest (Season 4) = Jogu (previous seasons) and also his brother (one of Tosca's other sons) Flava Flav in some scenes.
Miles (Season 4) = Achilles (Season 2)
Baker (season 4) = Attila (Season 2)
Bananas (season 4) = Athena (season 2)
Angie (season 4) = Chutney (season 2)
Hawkeye (season 4) = Rocky (season 1)

Wileykat (season 4) = Shelly (season 2)
Finn (season 4) = Rose (season 1) and also Daisy in some season 3 scenes-- mainly when nursing Len and Squiggy.

I have watched MM re-runs over and over and enjoy all...I must ask "why isn't a season 5 on the air" always by now the season would have started. Meerkats are so adorable and independent and so social. I love their whole little world. Please some one in the know let us all know when Season 5 will be shown.

Mostly everyone from the season is gone. The only dominant couple that remains from season 4 is the aztecs but Monkulus now has 12 offspring and the Aztecs are up to 17 members.
