Almost everything has changed in the time since February 2008, when the cameras stopped rolling. This may be a reason Mm will probably not be coming back on ap, although I think it could. Every loss hurts but there is always a new hero to love.
Hannibal died of TB in early 2007.

The real Nikita question is another one with a long answer. The first meerkat to play Nikita regularly was Rhian, dominant female of the Vivian. She died of TB, just like her mate and all of her family. She was mostly Nikita in Season 2 and 3. I'm glad we got to see her, because she was a special kat and one of the strongest and most successful dominants ever. Most of the really violent things they showed her doing were not her anyway. The Commandos burrow raid on Lazuli where we met them was actually not film of Vivian or the real Commandos, it was either Young Ones (aka Zappa) or Elveera. And the burrow raid on Mozart's pups never happened at all. I don't know what that was film of.
There have been at least two meerkats actually named Nikita; one was a subordinate in Vivian and was probably Rhian's daughter. I can't remember what happened to her but she probably died of TB. The other Nikita is still alive, and is a young subordinate in the Drie Doring family.

I think the Hannibal you were talking about was Jimbob of the Vivan he was the meerkat with the one eye. Sadly like VWF026 had mentioned Jimbob did died of Tb in his sleep so he may of gone peacfully they never found his body but he was wearing a radio collar which is how they tracked it back to the burrow.

I was watching MM yesterday, and I noticed something. In "The Tale of Len and Squiggy," they said that Mitch was the one that looked after Len and Squiggy the most. But in "Heavy the Crown," they said Mitch was involved in the fight with the Commandoes. Did Mitch leave RD's group and go to Flower's group, or was this just meerkat substitution?

This is one of the big continuity errors... I guess they just thought we wouldn't notice! There was some moving back and forth but Mitch was in Flower's group. I haven't watched the episode in a long time, but in the book it said that the older males Zarathustra/zorro, Pozzo and Flava Flav/Seacrest were in the prime male positions in Rocket's splinter group, so a lot of the film was probably them, or Machu Pichu who also was used to play Mitch sometimes and was in Rocket's group.

Are the researchers in danger of TB when they handle an infected meerkat?

The KMP dose take blood from the meerkats some times, But never realy get the TB.

the real only reason they take blood is to see if certain meerkats are related with each other. They dont try to cure Tb they dont involve themselves in the natural events in the kalahari.

I know that visitors to the KMP are vaccinated for TB. I'm sure researchers are too.
