Oh! I forgot to mention. I finally figured out my PC tv card and recorded the entire segment ^_^

So if anyone missed it or wants to see it again, i'll be uploading it soon...to my youtube of course Big Grin

I'm no good at legal mumbo jumbo, but i figured i'd try to get in touch with ABC first and see if I can get permission to post it

but yeah... I wish this forum would let me edit posts so I wouldn't have to post multiple times like this *hides in a bolthole*

I wish I could have made it to even one of those parties. all the "meerkat" food looked tasty! and they showd a tiny bit of meerkatgirl123's vid!

QF, you were great. I would have studdered and messed up 100 times ;p

they have loads and loads of stuff to condense into a 10 minute segment though

I thoroughly enjoyed the Nightline special!! Many insights were gained...

I loved the extended interview with Pam and her wonderful Meerkats Rafiki and Kendi...who I've also held and cuddled!! Thank You abc and Nightline!!

Mick did a great job, I enjoyed his words of wisdom and insights!

Queenflower, I know how it feels to be taken out of context...it happens way too often for my comfort.

WCM, thanks for posting the pictures of the screening party!! Looks like you all had a wonderful time. Did anyone try the Wild Animal Meerkat Crunch Cereal??

My thanks to Jason for giving his kind attention to the many fans that faithfully watch Meerkat Manor each week, and some who have watched the re-runs over a dozen times...me. I recorded this piece and will watch again and again!!

This Is Still Flower's Manor!!
Peace Love & Meerkats

Queenflower you looked great and you said everything beautifully.

Pam's little ones looked so sweet. I loved all of it! Just nice to know that there is somewhere we can all go and visit with these precious creatures.

Jess, thank you for posting the pics. They were great! It was so much fun planning this party for everyone. The Meerkat that I am holding at the end of the show was a gift from 2 guests that I had not met previously who came all the way from Maryland to see the show. Jess, did you tell everyone about what you wore?

Hildy, it was very nice meeting you and thank you for helping with the Meerkat quiz...

My husband took many more pictures of our party and we will post those also very soon. It was a labor of love getting this party together. Just putting the names on cupcakes and the brownies, and yes, Jerseykat, they were soooo good. I wish I could have invited everyone. Planning a party in honor of Flower was indeed an honor. It took about a month in all to get this finished. Angie, I wish you could have been here. It was absolutely incredible. Meeting new friends and sharing this event with friends will be something I think we will all cherish for many years to come and I will watch this video many many times.

A little bit of this segment was shown on World News at 2:10 am this morning....

Next up? The Craig Ferguson Show today...I am all ready to go and see Stockard Channing and hear what she has to say about MM.

I really enjoyed the Nightline segment! Congratulations to everyone whose video or picture was featured. Was WCM the one making the toast, and Janelle was holding the stuffed animal meerkat at the end? Bravo Queenflower, I wished they would have shown more of your hour interview.

jerseyKat - I hear your disappointment about the "tone" of the narrator, but I am overall pleased with the piece.

I guess I am always looking for a silver lining bc I know I joined these boards bc I could find no one to talk to about this. "This" being my intense love and fascination with meerkats.

So, I am pleased overall with the story. Could have used more of Queenflower, who's profession would have elevated the status of all of us. (I like to think of us as a well educated bunch) Smile

But, sigh..... overall we were treated rather well.

Queenflower, thanks for doing such a great job in representing us. I am sorry they didn't give you more time after all the prep and interviewing they did.

All Hail the Queen!

squirrellygirly:

Yes, that was wcm making the toast and I am holding the Meerkat at the end....We also had a Meerkat quiz and a jar full of candied mealworms and each guest had to guess how many were in the jar. Prizes were given and it was so much fun. I had made a book of Flower poems, sentiments of her, articles of Meerkat Manor, Mozart and gave these to each guest. I even had a crown and Flower's picture on it as she is and always will be the Queen of the Kalahari.
We had a framed movie billboard showing the premiere. I also gave each guest a tiled Meerkat coaster as a memory of the party.

Thank you Nightline for airing this special on Meerkats. It means so much to all of us to have others get a glimpse inside the Meerkats world.

While I did enjoy what was shown I would've liked if the entire 30 minutes would have been spent on the Meerkats. Based on what I've heard and read there was more than enough footage to fill the 30 minutes (or should we say 18 minutes after commercials). Personally I had no interest in the magic mint at the beginning, but at least they showed our meerkats.

Janelle awesome job with the party, I too wish I could've come out sooner to be there but I was there in spirit and thank you for my folder of meerkat articles. I'd also like to see more pictures from the party, hope they get posted soon.

QF I understand your frustration after spending so much time with a reporter to only have a minute or two shown.

What happened to the Good Morning America piece??????
I set my DVR to record it, just now flipped thru it and saw nothing about meerkats.

I went to my local zoo yesterday and took pictures of the meerkats there and will post them soon. I couldn't help but to feel sadness watching them dig and play knowing that Chico is still alone.

Well, just saw the nightline piece. While it did imply we are all a little "over-enthusiastic" I don't think it was too bad. Not enough queenflower, but hey, we're mainstream.

I want a meerkat snowglobe. I did purchase a fan from TriBeCa for an embarrassing amount on ebay. sigh

Hi everyone. I really enjoyed the Nightline piece overall. Yes, they had hours of footage with QF, and they had 50 minutes of our movie party footage, all of which was drastically reduced, but since everything had to fit as a short segment, so really, how could ABC squeeze in everything? What we need is another longer produced segment... Maybe an AP production on MM's fan-culture that they can post on the MM site, as a grass roots fan thing. The new corporate trend these days is guerilla marketing, where companies market directly to grass-roots fan bases. This could be something...

I wish they wouldn't mentioned the ECMS Meerkat Meetups. I also wish they would've mentioned the ECMS' work to help meerkats in zoos, which we mentioned to ABC (time & time again), and I noticed a few unflattering angles of myself Razz (including my aweful blank expresion in the group photo) but as I've said, I'm just glad they showed the story. Did anyone notice that I was wearing a meerkat necktie? You can see it in the party's group photo (if you freeze-frame it); just promise to look at the tie; not my expression. Roll Eyes

As for other questions I saw posted, yes, I made the toast... Yes, I'm tall... Did you notice Sean Astin's name in the photos of the party treats?

Lastly, I was relieved when my coworker today mentioned that my voice doesn't actually sound as "animated" in real life as it did on the video. I had wondered where the low bass-frequencies of my voice had gone. Wink

I loved the Nightline segment. I know they had to squeeze alot into a little time, I was hoping for more from Queenflower, and of our west coast burromates.

Queenflower you are beautiful and you did a great job, sorry it was so short.

Janelle, you realy went all out for the party, and Hildy told me you were a wonderful hostess and she realy enjoyed it. Wish I could have been there!

WCM, you are tall! I love those deep bass voices, my pup has one. Dmoo likes to talk to him, LOL. Thanks for the pictures.

As I wrote a fellow meerkat lover I thought the ABC segment was well done. I wish there would have been more of QF, but such is editing. I could have done without so much from the Mick and I didn't have to see Flower dying twice, but over all I enjoyed it tremendously.

Fellow Earthlings a dream come true!

Nightline's true blue diehard audience now know about Meerkats! The party sequence was fun; the toast so true. For a five minute segment it did provide a lot of info.

Could have been wrong, but thought I saw a tiny, tiny smile on the lips of one of the narrators, but it was fleeting.

If nothing else it allows me to understand better the hours of film footage of our meerkats vs what is actually used, looking for the best segment to meet the needs of the producer.

I liked it! It just needed to be longer.

How about posting us a picture of your tie wcm?

But boy you are tall!!!!!!!!

A good job overall--very enjoyable! I'm glad Nightline devoted *two* mini-segments to the meerkats! I agree with most of the comments--would have loved seeing more of Mary's interview (great way to represent, Mary!!), less of Mick, and maybe a little more balance between Pam and some other features. Loved the "party scene" and the 'kat beers/brews/cocktails and face masks :-)

I wasn't sure if the host Terry Moran was being snarky or playful but I'll let that go haha

Just to correct a glaring error in my post above, I accidentally wrote: "I wish they wouldn't mentioned the ECMS Meerkat Meetups". I meant to say that "I wish they would've mentioned the ECMS Meerkat Meetups".

Will try to post a tie-photo later... On my way now to CBS, Stockard, and tonight's event!!!

WCM, you, like manorfan and pinkbuni are being too critical (I speak to both of them on mastermeerkat). They are also in the ECMS photos.

You all did fine, everyone looks like they're having a good time. I love the crown with Flower's picture on it. Will have to try and freeze the segment to see the tie. Where did you get it?

It was a wonderful segment. Everone was so professional. And overall, MM got 4 minutes 19 seconds of coverage - phenomenal.

WCM, how about a cottage industry, selling meerkat cupcakes atthe ECMS store?
