AP may not be showing Meerkat Manor anymore, but the popularity of meerkats is growing in leaps and bounds! They are showing up everywhere. Many zoos report they have people flocking to the meerkat exhibits, one in UK even gives you a bowl of mealworms, and you can let them sit on your lap, not only from Meerkat Manor fans but the new "Russian Meerkat" ad campaign for an insurance company. I get all sorts of news about Meerkats by just signing up on Google Alerts. I get news from everywhere about them. Just type in Google Alerts, and put in meerkats, I just can't get enough!

Meerkats are very popular. Animal Planet could still commission Meerkat Manor, and promote it in a different way.

We try to inform the media right now about the MM cancellation, and our petition. I am (and I'm sure the individuals of our group) the kind of person that never gives up easily.

I used to live in the Orlando area until three years ago. I live in southeastern Florida now.

Somebody from Kansas emailed the Orlando Sentinel today regarding our petition. I believe it's one of our group members.

Dave’s involvement with Meerkat manor will be two fold. First he will be composing a new theme song with 60’s pop music sensibilities, and second they will try to place him as the new “alpha male” of the meerkat community. Unfortunately in trying to make the underground den big enough to accommodate Dave an unexpected cave-in killed most of the colony…
