I am very disappointed in the show, not because of the animals, or the general idea of the show; I think it's a great concept but what I hate is that they just sit there and let those poor animals die! First it was flowers son dieing from a snake bit, now flower, who next? I mean they could atleast give them anti venom, or pain meds. Where are there heart's for the animals? They're making money from them, but cant atleast give them treatment when they need it? That's MURDER!!! I will not sit around and watch them get ratings at the expense of those poor Meerkat's!!! "I'm done!"

The researchers did intervene with Flower. They removed her collar and gave her medicine, but unfortunately despite their efforts, she died. They just didn't mention it on the show. The researchers and film crews cannot interfere, it is in their contract.

Hello WhiteTiger, nice to meet you!

I have also heard another account that she was cremated and her ashes scattered in the Kalahari. I wish we knew which it was.

Take care

Actually, the protocol is to cremate any kat that dies, especially of TB. Flower even though bitten by a snake was cremated. This is further confirmed in the “Videos Gallery.”

I read somewhere (I think this forum??) that they also cremate deceased meerkats because scavengers would dig up the remains if they were buried.

Hi geniebelle, nice to see you! I have read that also...makes sense. I think it would be nice if Flower was returned to the Kalahari, forever in the winds...how befitting! Thank you for the info!

Hello kescha, thank you for the tip! I appreciate your help!

It would be comforting if they returned all their ashes to the Kalahari. I'm glad they do cremate all the kats. Its nicer than being torn apart by a predator.
