I really want to see Zaphod soon...to see if he has found any meerkat lady to mate with...I truly hope another channel picks up this show I have missed seeing my kats...I even have meerkats guarding my front door on my house...the statue was given to me by my daughter who knows how much I love them...and the book.

I think Maybelline has accepted Zaphod as her dominant male. He is, after all, her uncle instead of her father so it's possible. I'm not sure, though. RDfan

gglynb, Zaphod no longer roves his old bones couldnt handle it. He will be 11 in just 2 months. we were thinking Monkuls occasionaly mates with him but she may think hes just a member of the group or an older brother we may never know. The same thing with Alonzo hes staying with them we saw in the Baobab several months ago Al Catraz was over thrown by Al Capone who is most likely his son.

Thank you sophie711 for thinking I might have done it, but to tell the truth I don't have an artistic bone in my body.
Zaphod 11 yo...I can & I can't believe it. The meerkat gods have been kind to him; the meerkat spirits watch over him. May they keep him safe from harm for many more years.

First, Zaphod turned 10 on Dec 9th 2008 and yes he is the dominate of the Aztecs. According to the KMP he simply doesn't chase away rovers so that Mabelline can mate. In July they were up to 17 members.
Does anyone know why the KMP is not posting anymore. Ths September update said the sight is no longer maintained

Everything I looked at on the KMP looked ok, but I did not see that specific statement so I may not have been in the right place.
There are rumblings that the researchers responsible for data gathering on our meerkats are not as concientious as those in the past and it has been very labor intensive to get reports out. Also much has changed in the life of one responsible for the site. So it is possible.
I would hope not as that reduces the flow of information to kats who are not FKMP members. Maybe the FKMP are feeling a decline in membership with no more Meerkat Manor and hope to bring in more.
But this is all speculation on my part...

The current groups still have Elveera as a group and Blondie as dominant female of the Rascals(She was predated in July) however the Hoppla was added to the lost groups section. Ccatz your a friend right? Cant you post a question for the researchers? Im hoping to gain entry to the burrow in the next few days I sent my Paypal on Monday so Im hoping everday I get the email!

There is nothing wrong. The new team of researchers that gathers the data is not so good at their job yet.

Sophie711....I hope by now you have received your membership info. I did send your post to the specific Friends who take care of membership on the FKMP. Good Luck you will love it...many, many of our AP kats are there and others from around the world...soooooooooooo much to learn and see.

Zaphod is a most precious treasure. We must keep him close and pray the meerkat spirits keep him forever safe...until he is peacefully called to rove with those who went before him...
With Zaphod there is Flower...Whiskers and all we have come to love about our Manor kats...long ago in the past, and now, to the future.

WOW! Reading over all of the posts makes me want to go home and watch my Meerkat Manor DVD's. I love Zaphod. He's always been my favorite. It was so sad after Flower died and he tried the "roving" thing. Sad to say that it was hard to see him without her. I still picture them both together and Flower having one of her "moments" stealing food from him when she was pregnant. That always made me laugh..she could be such an "energetic" little thing.
I pray that Zaphod has a few more years left in him and will be devastated when it's his time to go over the rainbow bridge. I really try not to think about that because it makes me cry.
Long live Zaphod! I can't wait for his Birthday, what a monumental occasion that will be.

That was fantastic! Zaphod is a remarkable meerkat, 10 years old, he makes the job look so easy! Hopefully our Kalahari King will continue his success and make it to 15 (the maximun meerkat age) or perhaps even further I'm still supportive of my idea about making a Movie for Zaphod. New clips, everyone know's him, his birthday's coming up, it would fill the hole until MM5 arrives (which we all hope it does!) ... I think a movie woulkd be brilliant!
