Well, I'm sitting here on a dreary neight in Wisconsin (They're talking snow for tonight already!). Looking ahead Fridays episodes of MM have the potential to be a bit of a downer and I was thinking, "I'm in the mood for a party to try to cheer up."
So here is what I am thinking...with Halloween only a few weeks away, who's up for a meerkat costume party? This may sound a bit wierd, but it could be fun and creative. We each pick the meerkat we want to dress up as. Past and current show members are all open.
Here is the twist. Many women have told me over the years that the key to fashion is to accessorize. So we will each choose one accessory which is fitting with the character we dress up as.
For example, and this is my choice. I am dressing up as Youssarian. My accessory I will be carrying around is a Magic 8 Ball. That way if I get confused or mixed up, as Uncle Youssy does from time to time, all I have to do is consult the Magic 8 Ball and I will have my answer. And if younger posters don't know what one of these is, please don't ask as you will only make me feel old.
So who are you dressed up as and what is your accessory?

And that should be night not neight. My fingers sometimes go faster than my mind.

My accessory is a big bowl of buttermilk batter. Tell me who I am dressing up as....could also be wearing an apron!

I'm thinking Pancake.

I would be Cazanna. Not quite sure what my accessory would be, though.. Any ideas?

Ooooohhh that's a good one! This is a fun party. I'm dressed as a certain famous general and my accessory is my flag. Who am I?

Aaaawwww, where did everybody go? Can't anyone guess which Meerkat I've chose! It's super easy!

I think that this is a really cute idea. I think that my accessory might be a straight-jacket, as most of the times my "paws" are crossed as if they were in a straight-jacket! And I do have social issues! Guess who I am!?!

Nope pancakeluver sorry but thats not it. But I'll give you a little hint.
I'm a famous general who was well loved by many but almost charged with treason by the same country I was fighting for! And, if I brought my flag to the party some people might be offended or even want to throw me out on my backside! (I can't tell u more cause it's way too easy)
O.k now someone think of a really hard one cause I like this idea. yossarian seems pretty popular suddenly. Gosh what would the show be without that little nutty guy! (If I get kicked out because of my flag, I think I might go home and get my butterfly net and come back and chase Cheryljean around the room with it!)
What a hoot!

Hey and on the subject of Yo I just had another very interest thought. If Yo becomes a daddy as a result of all his recent roving we might get to see how his genes play out in the next generation!
Talk about interesting! Now how would you like to have that family living next door!

Cazanna-
I have an idea for your accessory. Maybe one of those baby carriers that mothers strap over their shoulders so they can carry their babies up front. Stick a meerkay pup in there. If anyone asks say, "After what happened to one of my pups, I'm not letting this one out of my sight."

Chocolatemeerkats-
I love history and I have to say your killing me here. All I'm thinking is Hannibal. He was loved by his people for the damage he did in Rome, got in trouble with his government, and the modern flag would be Libya.
How major of a character are you coming as?

Very major. (think U.S history) You can say that if he had won one very decisive battle our country today would be made up almost entirely differently than it is today.
If u saw my flag u would know which meerkat instantly. I can tell if you want?

No Little-boy-the-meerkat. Good try though! But when I said U.S history I meant in real life. I should have explained better. Sorry!

Chocolatemeerkats-
Am I right in assuming it is a Confederate General? Please don't give the answer yet. My mind is churning.

Also, was Gettysburg the battle he lost?
Better break out the gummy worms and scorpions for snacks, this party going strong and this character is proving to be a bit of a stumper.

All I can think of along these lines is William Lee as the general, sharing the same name with William Shakespeare...is it Shakespeare?

Oh my gosh, I'm getting my Gerals mixed up, Robert not William. This is fun and confusing.

And my computer just starting pitching a fit. This general is causing all sorts of meltdowns.
Time to run some programs and try to find the problem.
By the way, if this general is from the War of 1812, then I give up and just tell me. (Ha-Ha!)

Hehehe...You were right when you said Robert E Lee! Now what Meerkat did I chose?!!

I may be going round in circles reading your clues, but last week I saw GWTW. Did your meerkat tell Atlanta "War is Hell!" on his march thru Georgia?

No ccatz, I think that was Sherman, my Meerkat is Robert E Lee.

Guess I was in circles....looking at your last reply you said R.E.Lee, but then you said What meerkat did I choose. So I was thinking Big Will...ie William Tecumseh Sherman. I must have missed the episodes with the confederate meerkat. Good show....

Yes, Pancakeluvr, it is Yousarrian. He is quite a character. Dangerous, but a character nonetheless.

Chocolatemeerkats,
Okay, I had some time to think about it at work. You mentioned the flag a few times. The Confederate flag had the blue cross with stars on it. Is the cross the key, and if so is it a reference to Uncle Youssy standing with his arms crossed?
You know, if a lot of us are there as Youssarian, it will be a rather unpredictable but fun party.

hhhmmmm, this is funny because, and I hope you dont mind me saying this but it just reminds me of something I learned in like some class probably sociology a long time ago about how male and female brains are different and men digest information by breaking it down into tiny bits and women are the opposite.
Well, I was thinking more like i guess a typical women then becasue I wanted you to think more of the whole flag. Just forget each little star and think of what people say about it. Think of what they call this flag. O.k because this word represents my meerkat.
And then if you still cant get it you can have my permission to look in a thesaurus. Ill check back in later after the show to see what you came up with.
Goodluck...

According to Wikipedia the nickname for the flag was "The Rebel Flag. It seems Ccatz nailed it with rebelious Tosca.
Now, the the toy lamb in Pancakeluvr's arms....

Yup my jig is up! Ccatz you got it right. As for pancakeluvrs lamb well I have been trying to figure that one out all day. All I have been able to come up with is Mary had a little lamb...then I'm stumped. I have the nursery rhyme stuck in my head, lol.

I'm doing the break down the info thing and thinking, "Who would carry a lamb in hand?" A shepherd of course, but I must admit my confidence is shaken after the who Tosca mystery you had us going on Chocolatemeerkats.
The dark side of me wonders if we need to look at this from a culinary point of view,,,how does Parsley taste on lamb? Maybe Basil?
Okay enough of that. Hope nobody's sickened by the last suggestion.
Wonder if Pancakeluvr could let us know if we are on the right path.
Oh, here comes another meerkat to the party. I think I know who he is. He is carrying a large bag. Who do you think he is?

Welcome to the party Maplestory. Any ideas as to who the meerkat is with the toy lamb or the one with the big bag? You're welcome to guess.

Not yet.... It looks like the kind of bags his fellow pups, when they were pups, would carry around for Trick or Treating. Only bigger.

This will probably give it away, but this meerkat is not planning on filling up his/her bag by going out Trick or Treating him/her self.

do u mean their not going trick-or-treating at all? or their not going by themself?

The brothers and sisters are out getting their scorpions and such themselves. The one at the party now is not, nor will he.

Here's the final clue as I have to go to bed soon. Early to bed and rise and all that.
He does plan on filling up his bag with goodies once the siblings get back.

Okay, one more. Hopefully he won't eat so much that he gets sick.

Hmmm I need to go ask someone else who they think this could be. maybe pancakeluvr will be able to think of the answer.

Is it rose or parsley...or god mango how many babies does this woman have!

I just can't stand going to bed with a mystery unresolved. The biggest clue I can think of is that he plans on filling his bag from and eating what his siblings got from their trick or treating.
