I know conversation makes a great party, BUT I am losing the clues guys & gals! Chocolatemeerkats do we have to read his mind just because he wants us to or is he so brilliant he doesn't want to speak to us? Would it be the Mind Game?

It's not a mind game...You can say it's more of a writing game....and he wants to speak to you all very badly.
I hope that helps. I have one more clue but I am saving it although something tells me you aren't going to need it.
Good luck!

Hello All,
Sorry, I had to leave the party for a bit. Hectic day but great news in my life.
Here's a writting game from my youth, Mad Libs. If you don't remember this, that's okay as it is a bit obscure.
Here's a question Chocolatemeerkats, is it a writting game you would play at a cocktail party for grown ups or would pups play it at a birthday party?

Chocolatemeerkats-
Is the fact he has to be silent until we guess the game a hint as to what the game is or just good natured stubborness on the meerkat's part?

Congratulations, whatever....Pages back Chocolatemeerkats said the whole mob could join in, also that he wants to speak to us badly. Maybe he can't...is he present at the party in "person" or spirit? Now my head is beginning to ache...

ZApodstheman,
Yes, the fact that he cant speak until the game is played IS a hint as to the nature of the game. Your second question. Is it a game grown ups would play at a cocktail party? Yes, but rarely (although less so at this time of the year). It is also a game kids might play at a sleep over party.
Ccatz,
(Your getting warmer)
The meerkat will be present 'in spirit'..

Okay, here is guess made in sheer desperation, but it is all I can think of. Kids at a sleep over party+in spirit+writing....does it equal a ouija board. If it is, then I would have to guess Shakespeare. Of course I may be a bit off in my thinking.

Yes, it is a ouija board! No, not Shakespear, (as we still do not know if he has died) although the Meerkat in question might know! Also there's someone already present at this party who I know will very happy to speak to him.

No not bubbles... (I don't think he's old enough to know how to write.)
But you're very close!

Yeah, I had thought Bubble too, but I thought she was a girl. Someone on the last page said Shakespeare, but it was buried in a mob of posts...so I'm not sure who to think.
Help Chocolatemeerkats!

Yes, you got it Xapodstheman!!!! Squeak is the last surviving of Big Si's offspring, and I know he will be very happy to hear from his Dad.

ZTM From what I read your news should have sent you to bed with a smile on your face. Congrats all round. Here is a simple one..On the way to the party Pancake met an old friend also. He was carrying sheet music....not as challenging as the others. Give our brains a rest. The party will be even livlier if possible.

Yes, chocolatemeerkats, HE, but you are very, very, close much to Flower's displeasure

Could it be Zaphod? I think there was some musical connection there.

zaphod was the president of the galaxy in the movie 'Hitchhikers guide to the galaxy'... I never thought he might be named after someone else. This board is very educational at times.

Didn't someone say they were going to be Bubbles? If so, then I'll have a good reason to use the baby carrier now. lol.

Not in space, but right under our noses. No, Not Zaphod, THIS time, but Chocolatemeerkats you are right there. Flower really gets upset with her daughters when________________. And HE carrys the sheet music.

I just did a yahoo search and Zaphod is also a band from the Netherlands, which I have never listened to and based on the info I saw, probably never will.
I would have to guess Carlos at this point, maybe the music is a reference to Carlos Santana. I was going to do a bad pun on the song "Smooth" but it was rather bad.

Oh, it looks like another meerkat is waiting to come in. This lovable furball is carrying a stick. This meerkat has good mannars though, and can wait until we are sure of the last one to join the party is.

All out...this little meerkat with the sheet music is an elder of Casanova Carlos'. Both he & Carlos were after a certain young lady's hand(Chocolatemeerkats) and he won. Flower was not happy and was ready to send in the clowns! His nickname is Stinker. .... Ready , set go! Furball with a stick....Sounds like one of my cats!

Way to avoid the obvious and make us work for it. I apologize for any misspelling of his name, but I'm guessing Sondheim.

If your cats walk around with sticks, I would hate to meet up with them in a dark ally.
|

oooh yes thats right Sondheim...
Does that mean something in German? Or another language relating to music? Sounds like it could maybe.
As for Xaphods furball with a stick, nothing comes to mind right away... I need to think on that a moment...
But pancakeluvr you're cat sounds interesting.

Oh wait I get it now pancakeluvr. Sondheim and Mozart. The connection to music. There it is.

Meerkat Sondheim the older man.....that's him. Don't know anything about the origins of the name, but I love the composer's broadway music....I will let the old girl know eveyone sends their regards, so to speak.
Back to the clue ...is this meerkat shepherding the mob(pups) into the burrow & standing watch over them all? One last thought... Morning comes quickly

Sometimes I don't think these post arrive when they are supposed to. Sondheim was the father of the litter of pups that Mozart lost. Please check my facts....have to admit the more of these little creatures & storylines there are, the more fuzzy memories become.

Pancakeluvr-
You are correct about Sondheim fathering Mozart's pups.
No, this meerkat is not shepherding pups with the stick. But the one he/she is carrying is as long (normally) os one that a shepherd would carry.
There does seem to be delays at times with posts. Perhaps we are overrunning their network...

Gosh is there a grandpa Meerkat we dont know about who walks with a cain? Or is it flower chasing away her daughters boyfriends with a stick? I'm grasping at straws. Walk softly but carry a big stick? stick in the mud? Mitch likes to climb up on tree branches...Is it Mitch?

Chocolatemeerkats-
You are very, very close with your twist on Teddy Roosevelt's quote.
It's not just what the stick is, but who would use it.
|

I noticed that too about the delay.

Not what the stick is but who would use it...Hmmm, let's see... Xaphod leans on flower. Could that be what you mean? Everyone leans on her really. She's like a big stick holding up the whiskers...

Good reasoning, but wrong meerkat.
Let's see, walk softly but carry a big stick, there's something there....
|
Senior Member

One more thing,
Someone using the stick as this meerkat does would lean on it when tired from what they are doing. But that is not the primary purpose of the stick.

Excellent Pancakeluvr-
Yes, this is a walking stick. Someone on an awfully big adventure would rest on it when tired.

Not Shakepeare, but it is someone he helped once when he was tired.

Columbus...the explorer. He might use a stick. He certainly walks softly and one could say carries a stick much bigger than himself.
