You are so lucky...they look so meerkat fit; like in the Kalahari; not zoo plump!

They are two sentries now. They take their job very seriously. The keeper said that the zoo has a lot of birds, that's why the sentries are so diligent! They do look fit. They move so fast in front of the camera.

They must be happy. The temperature is 90 degrees plus the last fews days. It's still 86 degrees, at 8PM (north of Miami).

They have all gone nitey nite...

They all disappeared suddenly, at sunset, or so, as meerkats do.

I love watching these little guys. I've been looking at them for 2 months now. Their feeding time is at 8:30am and 12:30pm, it's a must see. They sometimes get paper to play with. I don't know why, but they love paper.

I'm sorry, I should have said 12.30pm feeding time. I believe in the morning the meerkats are fed between 8.15 and after 9 (sometimes even later, at 10), as people mention in comments that are posted in the nbc6 news website.

I was watching this morning. The first meerkat appeared at around 6.36am (eastern). They sleep under the mound.

I get to work earlier than that so will set up the computer. Can't wait.

The link for the Colorado Springs zoo is great, but the page doesn't refresh automatically. The manual refreshing cannot be done for too long. These kats are plump; very cute, of course. I saw at least seven.
The Miami Metro zoo has six kats, they all have names, they are about ten years old, and they are very active. I saw the morning feeding the day before yesterday (8.30am) by Adam, the "keeper". He obviously likes them very much. He spent a lot of time with them, he handfed them, although he didn't touch them (even when they went up on his knee). A lady fed the kats in the afternoon. If you blinked you missed her. They were fed live insects. Unfortunately, she was the one that fed them yesterday morning (around 10am). She just put a bowl of food on the ground and left. One kat has the habit of laying inside the bowl (very cute).

On my computer the cam updates every second. So if a meerkat scurries away really fast, it looks as if they vanished into thin air!!!!!

That must be the answer as to why mine looks weird. Thanks SG

The Miami camera updates every second, so the picture looks choppy. It's nice, anyway. Today somebody was cleaning the enclosure, and the kats were fed very late (morning feeding).

There is one now on top of the mound. The sun is shining on him. His head just keeps turning watching for the birds of prey.

Time to satisfy the meerkat withdrawal symptoms for a little while.

While I was at our zoo yesterday, I told one of the staff at the future Pt Defiance meerkat manor about the web cam sites here & she seemed excited about it so I'm hoping they set one up too! I like having all these outlets for the meerkat cravings!

I just love to check out what they are doing - love the little nugget sitting on top watching out for danger.

Another cam? Can't have too many meers. There are 4 running around now with our vigilant sentry.

Hey this is great! Love the sentry. I saw five, counting the sentry. A guy came in with a shovel and did some cleaning. The kats sure are curious!

Thanks CCatz, I could watch this all day. The kats were all looking at the camera! I wish this was in real time, but I'll take it! The cheyenne kats are up now and sunning their bellies.

I have been checking in on the Miami meerkats today, got see to see them getting fed - the guy put up the bowl to the camera to show the food in it [didn't look yum-yum to me, but I'm not a meerkat] when he was leaving - one meerkat stopped eating - turned - both the guy and meerkat look at each the same time. - it was so cute.

Looks like someone knocked the Miami cam out of place - maybe a mischevious meerkat?? There needs to be more meerkat webcams out there - can't get enough of these guys

I got to check up on Miami meerkats today, a bird tried to eat out of their bowl of food put out for them and one meerkat did not like it one bit and went over and chased the bird away - it was funny to watch the little kat protect it's food.

Got to see the Miami meerkats before I had leave this morning, one was sitting on top watching out for danger, one was sitting in the food dish, two were tring to get food out of dish and one kat was running around.

I just love getting my daily meerkat fix

There are about 11 or 12 kats out in the yard at the zoo in Colorado Springs, they are kind of bunched up together and keep looking up at the sky, the CS kats look so bigger then the Miami kats or the wild kats.

This morn. one Miami kat was sitting on top of the turned over food dish and one CS kat was standing up and watching out for danger.

The Miami kats were eating this morn. there were a couple workers in the kat's yard doing some cleaning up, the kats looked like they enjoy being taken care of, so can watch the Miami sky for danger.

There were a couple birds eating out of the kats dish - they better hope the kats don't catch them eating their yum - yums!!

Bless his little heart one of our babies is splatting in the shade at the foot of the mounds...

Did any of you see the squirrel they had in their enclosure the other day? I took a few screenshots of it, cute but I wonder if it was scared. Other said they saw the meerkats mobbing it but when I saw it they were ignoring it pretty much.
