hi. I'm ten and getting a hampster for my birthday. I need To know the best breed for young people,if thaey can be all black or all white, And all that important stuff!!!

The best kind of hamster for a young person or a beginner is a Syrian Hamster. They are easy to tame and are very friendly.

They do come in all black, but I'm not sure if Syrians come in all white.

They need fresh food and water every day, and it is better to keep the water in a water bottle to keep it from getting dirty. They also need an exercise wheel so they can run (hamsters love to run).

The best bedding is Carefresh bedding because it is not made out of wood, and some wood bedding is unhealthy for hamsters.

You should get the hamster cage and set it up before you get your hamster. When you get your hamster you will need to leave it alone for a few days so he or she can settle in to its new home.

Syrian hamsters need to live alone or they will fight with each other.

I think you should get a hamster care book before you get your hamster so you know how to take care of your hamster better.

Those are good too. Teddy bear hamsters are just long hair Syrian hamsters. If you get more than one hamster you will have to keep them in different cages or they will fight.

If you want an all black hamster, get a black bear hamster. It's basicly a black syrian hamster so if you hear stuff about syrian hamsters then it is also qualifies for black bear hamsters. My friend had one and he was really nice...he was also a pig...LOVED food. He grew up nice and fat. Oh well. Good luck!

i had a teddy bear hamster and mine was kind of mean also he was really fat i had to buy him larger tubes because he kept getting stuck but other than that i really liked him i think you should get a teddy bear hamster
