Ok, so my teddy bear hamster Hammy is about 2 years old (he's getting old I know) and of course hamsters, especially older hamsters, are prone to illnesses. A few days ago I discovered a black bump on his side which is either an abscess from him or his old friend Cheese biting him or he's got cancer. Either way, it saddens me greatly. I know Hammy's old and will eventually die but I love my Hammy and he's probably the best hamster I've owened and I've owened a lot of hamsters.
I know a trip to the vet would clear up wheather he has caner or not and either way they'll remove it but that'll cost $100+ and he's an older hamster getting towards the end of his happy healthy life. Atleast it doesn't seem to bug him to much. He's still as happy and lazy as ever so. I just hope this isn't anything serious.
its a 50 50 chance that he has cancer or a growth and if it is a growth it is still serious and you have to take him to the vet as quickly as possible ok
