I was thinking of getting a ferret. They seem soooooo cute! I've heard that they are very smelly. Would it help if they were descented? The pet store that we were thinking of getting the ferret from said that all of the ferrets were descented. I would also buy an air freshener. Is it better to get a male or female? I have names for both sexes. I ask this because of their temperment. I want one that can be sweet but one that will play a little too. I have one dog, three cats, two rats, and a guinea pig. The cats are great with the rats and guinea pig and the dog isn't too bad with them. Would a ferret be okay with these animals? I would not keep the ferret in the same cage as the rats or guinea pig because it is common sence. I was wondering if the ferret would be okay with the rats and guinea pig for play time. On a scale from 1-10, would would you rate for taking care for it. Like 1 being easy to take care of one and 10 would mean that it is hard to care for one. I really appreciate the help. Thank you so much!
one of my good friends has two farrets they are a lot like wesels and will eat small rodents sometimes it would mostly depend on the animal because i put my cat and rabbit together and there fine as far as care goes they are a 6 or 7 because they do need baths some times. i dont know about male or female. good luck if u decide to get one
whell duh they look like weasels they are weasels and i have 1 and he is a joy... but cleaning is the dumps. he poops 3-4 times a day and pees 2-4 times a day but watching him play and playing with him is well worth it for sure. but you need too be very responsable!!!!!! and they are kind of costley so think about it
Yes ferrets are cute. But they are smelly, and descenting remember does not take away all of the smell. It will still smell because that is just how they are made. With any pet there is care and cleaning so that isn't the biggest issue. Ferrets can also get costly because of diseases that are common like Adrenal Disease which is a big killer.
