I have a pet Netherland Dwarf Rabbit and her name is Jessica. She is a jet black rabbit and she is EVIL. She'll bite you anywhere she wants to and you have to wear gloves to pick her up because she'll bite your hands and you will bleed. And she sheds BAD. I don't know how to make her nice and I treat her like royalty. I'm very very sweet with her and she still isn't very nice. She will sometimes lick you but thats rare. And she is F to the A-T!!! I just don't know what to do and I don't wanna give her away. And she has a play mate the same breed named Peter Cotton Tail.Peter is sweet! He'll lick you and lick you and lick you! Peter is white, brown and black. I just don't know what to do with Jessica!!!! Please help!
go in a closed tent with her alone and bring long carrots. and when you give her a carrot hold on to it when she starts to eat it slowly reach to her and pet her. and what ever you do stay relaxed. and if she bites you don't move away our flinch. because that giving her the idea that she controles you. good luck!
This is what my vet told me when I got my bunnies: If they bite you, Squeal like heck. When rabbits are in pain, they scream. My rabbit screamed once and it was an ear splitting, loud scream. I'm not kidding! When Jessica bites you, squeal like a bunny would. High pitched and for around 1 second give or take some. It works trust me. My friend's rabbit stopped biting because we did that. It takes around a week or less so don't expect it to work RIGHT away. She will eventually get the picture that biting hurts and is a no-no.
Is she spayed? This could be EVERYTHING. If she is more than five months old and definatly a female (if you got her from a pet store, have your vet double check) but from her behavior, she probably is. She's just being a teritorial, hormonal girl. Some does are like that and some aren't. Spay her and it should go away. I agree with the suggestions, but I have something to add. If you do the food reward system, make sure you remove the food when she bites along with screaming. It's extrememly high pitched, by the way, not just a hollar. If you really want to make a point, turn your back to her. They hate to be ignored. Also, are you lifting her out of the cage, or letting her come out on her own? Let her come out on her own. It could be cage aggression. And, if her companion is a buck, remove him please, wait about 35 days, just to be sure there aren't any babies, and spay her. Not only will it help with her behavior, but she will be healthier and live longer.
