Hey, I have a bunch of animals, 2 guinea pigs and a rabbit is nothing Wink

If you can care for a rabbit along with your two piggies, and can afford it, and have room, then by all means get a rabbit.

They do need a big cage though. I would say 3 feet by 3 feet minimum for a small breed. 4x4 minimum for a normal sized, and much larger for the giant breeds.

Just remember though, that if you get a rabbit, you can't feed it guinea pig pellets or the guinea pigs rabbit pellets. I know they look and smell alike, but the guinea pig formula has too much vitamin C for the rabbits and rabbit formula doesn't supply enough vitamin C for the guinea pigs.

As for a cage, the minimum is 1.5 sq ft per pound. I reccomend NIC cages. Store bought cages are often useless. NIC cages give you twice the cage and half the cost. Before you decide to get a rabbit, do research. I researched for like five motnths before getting Nelson. I still have most of my notes (I think I saved like 18 pages or so) that I would be willing to type up for you. My email is blenderpie@hotmail.com. read all the books you can get your hands on. Google all the sites you can. Make sure a rabbit is what you really want. The worst thing that can happen to a rabbit is an uneducated owner (not saying that you are) but a lot of people discover that rabbits aren't what most people think. Most are delighted by what they discover, while others should have stuck to hamsters and piggies.

GPs and rabbits get along wonderfully together. We housed GPs and rabbits together all the time and they've been best friends. They miss each other if one dies or is taken from the cage with out them. And they will eat each other's food but it's not to big of a deal. They'll figure out which food they like more (normally is their own type of food) and eat that rather than the others so no need to worry there.

Good luck.
