First I would get the pregnant cat to the Vets. They can do an ultra sound to see how far along she is, see how many kittens are coming and give her a complete check up. Supply her with fresh food and water and give her a soft bed. You will also need a litter box, toys and a scratching post. She will probably select her own place to have her kittens. Usually it is a well hidden, secluded place. The Mom will take care of her kittens when they are born. Just stand by in case she needs the Vet, but usually nature will take it's course. Also have her spayed after the kittens are born to make sure that she doesn't have more kittens in the future. Hope that helps.

You can also contact your local humane society organization or ASPCA for advice. Many humane animal control/rescue organizations will give your animals vaccinations and spay/neuter surgery at a much cheaper rate than the local veterinarians, and may also help you find homes for the kittens as well. It's great that you rescued this mama cat! Good luck!

Dear leafyseadrgn282,

Do exactly what Tumeria says and fast! She is a cat in need! This probably will coast a lot of money so see if you can earn some house money for m your mom or dad. This cat will already probably of lost a litter or two. Also remember that this is a wild cat and may not be tame. If you are lucky you may keep the cat but if not try to find or help find a suitable home for her, but only after all of the kittens are ready to look after themselves. Do not rush after the kittens are born. You may want a little more information on this so learn with the vet, cat owners, books, and the internet. Do this all fast but not fast enough that you miss vital information. You still have time but still hurry. Care in Colorado,

the kittens should be ok, they have thier mom to feed them, bath them, and keep them warm, best thing you sould do now is give the mom and kittens thier own big box, it is easy to litter train kittens, oh and don't listen to tlcanimal, i mean oh brother! cats give birth in the wild all the time and they live! by now i'm guessing the kittens are already born, if you are to get rid of the kittens, please try to give them out, the only shred of money you need to spend now is a little to put an article in the newspaper, say " free kittens!" but not until they are 12 weeks old. i really admire your love for animals, and you did make a difference, that mother cat is probably so thankful, you did a wonderful thing.

Be careful of placing ads in the newspaper for free kittens. That is the way many research laboratories get animals to do experimentation on! These are called Class B dealers and are actually licensed by the USDA! (see my web site: www.waraw.org and go to the section on Abuse and Cruelty- research and testing)Try to find homes for the kittens through family and friends. Kittens are highly adoptable so if all else fails do contact the SPCA.
