Hello Everyone. I have started an animal rescue service in MI called Great Lakes Animal Rescue. I am an amatuer at this and I am trying to do my part in helping animals in my community. I am having trouble getting started and need your help. I have not been able to raise the funds needed to purchase a property for the shelter and was looking for fundraising and/or sponsor ideas. Congratulations on starting the Great Lakes Animal Rescue! I myself have just started the Waltham Animal Rights and Welfare group- www.waraw.org
I too am thinking about fund raising ideas. One suggestion is to add a paypal account to your web site so that people can send donations. Get your name out into the community as much as possible- do a press release with your local newspaper. Try to establish yourself as a non profit organization. I am eventually going to do these things too. I am starting off small and going to see where it goes. I am also associated with another animal rights group in the Boston area. I will be working closely with them. They now have over 600 members! Good Luck!!
