I don't know how to start this or even what to do. I live out in the country where nothing is ever done about strays or any of that. My family and I have eight cats. In the last week three have gone missing.

We have went out for walks, looking for anything to tell us they were taken by an animal or if they were hit by a car. Nothing was ever found. No fur, no marks.

My brother was calling the shelters in Spokane asking if they had any new strays brought in that matched ours when he spotted something in the neightbors yard; a trap.

On a closer inspection, it was one of those traps that swings close when an animal gets by the bait, and yes, it had food in it. When I went by it, I saw it had white fur in it, the same color as MY cat.

I wouldn't think anything of it, but we have had problems with our neighbors before. Well, because I was upset already I went up to the door and asked if they had trapped our cats. They told us that WE didn't know what we were talking about. Shortly after the confrontation, the son of the family came out and removed the trap.

Now the sheriff has yet to call us back, we haven't found them in a shelter, and they haven't shown back up. These cats were family, and one wouldn't have left the property unless swayed.

No one will help, and I don't know what to do. I think this guy has killed our four-legged family members and all I am told to do it wait. What can I do? Can anyone help me?

A DOG IS GOING TO DIE FOR THE SAKE OF "ART"
Last year a sadist man calling himself an artist presented a sordid piece of art: he took a street Dog in Managua, roped it in a wall inside an art exposition and let it die from starvation in front everyone. It took two days for the dog to die. And the sadist was agraciated with a prize in the exposition.
Now he has been invited to show his art again at the Bienal Centroamericana Honduras 2008, in
november. His name is Guillermo Habacuc Vargas.
There is a petition around the world but he alredy has said that he disregards the
petition and that he will do it again, no matter what.
Please, help us. Denounce this atrocity and its suporters:
The Managua Juri that gave him his prize: Ana Sokoloff (Colombia), Oliver Debroise
(Mexico) y Rodolfo Kronfle Chambers (Ecuador).
Let's do something against it: let's denounce and let them know they are not welcome in
the civilized world. Ana Sokoloff, for instance, after saying Habacuc presented a "very instigant piece of art", is in New York now... Rodolfo Kronfle is a well known art dealer that passes most of his time in NY and Europe... Could you not help us to launch a real campaing to stop this anouced cruelty... Not everyone in Latin America is so cruel... but it seems that he, being an artist, have some kind of inumity. The dog died in front everyone and no one had the courage for stopping it. Dozens art lovers passed in front of the dying
dog and raised no even one finger against it...And now another dog will die nex
november, this time in Honduras.
PLEASE LET'S THINK TOGETHER HOW TO FIGHT AGAINST THIS SADIC EVENT
