I really don't know what to do. My fiance and I rent our house that is surrounded by pasture. Our landlord has rented the pasture to some people. They originally brought out a horse and a pony, when the horse was here they came atleast every other day to feed them (at that time the pond was not frozen yet so they had water). Anyway, they came and got the horse about a month ago and have not been bac k to feed the pony since! It has been snowing here and the pond is now completely frozen, there is nothing for the pony to eat..... animal control has come out twice but have said that until the animal is almost dead they can't do anything! We have made anonymous tips (if our landlord knew we said anything we would probably be evicted, and we have kids). We would feed the pony ourselves, but we can't afford it and have been warned before that we shouldn't mess with the animals on the property that our landlord rents out! This pony is going to die if someone doesn't do something and my hands are tied! Help! Please! Bev
Do somthing to help that pony, start a fund raiser and try to get the counties attion and by doing that you can raise money for the pony, for food and water, and get people that can help attion also. All animals need food and water, at least! Please help! if you need more advice there are plenty more people here to help you! Good luck!
Dear Bev, What state do you live in? Is there an SPCA locally. This would be different than animal control. If the pony is abandoned the SPCA should be able to seize it. Again you can anonymous. If there isn't an SPCA I would keep after animal control. I would also try to get water to the pony. Tumeria33
Hopefully We willbe moving soon, which means that if We can keep the pony going until then, then I can go all out getting on animal control about this. Unfortunately there is no aspca here, god how I wish there was! We are trying to keep water out there, but it freezes so fast! Thank You for your advice. Bev
Flip, I live in Lexington Kentucky. We have moved off the property where the pony is, since the weather has warmed up the pony is doing better, but still has basically been abandoned. We found out that in order for the humane society to do something the animal must be very close to death! It's appalling. I still believe that this poor little female pony needs help though. We recently went to the property and 'little bit' as we call her has become anti-social and shy of people again, it's very sad, she used to be soooo friendly. If You know anyone here who can help, I would greatly appreciate it, this lovable little filly needs a family who would love and take care of her. Dave & Beverly Fruth
I could maybe adopt this filly, if that is necessary, all I will need is information and anything else about "Little Bit" (cute name! ). And PLEASE still inform us about her condition (if still a possabilty). We are all here to help! Don't forget that! Also to send me any info. about her my, email is JulianaAtt@aol.com. Hope all will be well! Take care!
