I am a nuclear magnetic resonance (NMR)spectroscopist. You showed that it takes 1,000 gauss to erase a credit card. We moved a real credit card along our magnet for NMR spectroscopy. The field at outer surface of the magnet is 1,550 gauss and the card is still useful.
Can you do your test again with a real credit card and see what field will erase the card?
