Hello, I have been dating this guy for quite some time ( almost a year?) We spend almost every day together, but every 3 weeks or so for the last few months, he "disappears", he doesn't call, come around ..anything, it's ALWAYS a weekend. Also, is it strange that we have not met each other's families? Part of me thinks that maybe he is seeing someone else and part of me thinks I am foolish. He always says that sometimes, he just needs a day or two to be alone where he doesn't want to talk to anyone and that is why he doesn't answer his phone. I asked him point blank if he has been with anyone else since we met and if he has/wants to ...just let me go. I have been cheated on in every relationship so far, so I am not sure if I am reading too much into this or if I should go with my gut. Also, I have never just dropped in to visit or call him on anything but his cell as he is currently living with and taking care of his mother. Another thing I find strange. He tells me he loves me but I am not so sure he is committed. Any thoughts, ideas or suggestions are appreciated.

I used to go out with a guy like that. Actually it happened more than once. Notice how I used the past tense "used to"

This kid you're seeing , and I say kid because 'disappearing' for 3 weeks is sooo mature, doesn't deserve any kind of attention from you. I know exactly how you feel and I'll tell you quite honestly that this guy probably has someone else and obviously loves his freedom more than he gives a s*hit about you. He is more scared of telling you the truth so he decides to make himself unavailable.

If you are looking for an honest relationship do yourself a favour and start to do some of your own 'disappearing'.
