I was just wondering. If you were out and across the room you see Mr/Ms 'Right'...you walk over to start talking and you realize *THIS* is the person you want to share the rest of your life with....then he/she gets out a cigarette and lights up.....would you find this a real turn-off and walk away??

No doubt in my mind that I would quickly end the conversation and walk away. I find cigarette smoking repulsive and sickening.

If he/she IS the right one, why not get to know them better, then you can always let them know that you dont like smokers, maybe that person is also looking for Mr./Mrs. right and needs a reason or motivation to quit.

People are always changing for their S.O.
If you walk right away you may miss the love of your life. If they dont quit or try, you can always walk later.

It depends on your lifestyle. If being physically active is important, a smoker will not fit into your life's joys. Smoking is a strong addiction and not only will the person be se xually unattractive due to the odor on the clothing and mouth, but it would say to me that a healthy and physically active lifestyle is not important to this person. I could not be intimate with a smoker.

In my experience with people, there are a lot of people that smoke socially. They don't all take it home with them. I have visited many bars, resturants etc, and have met people that don't smoke unless they are among others. I don't think it's a turn off, and I wouldn't walk away until I knew all the facts. Everybody has a vice and some peoples is to smoke. But if you can't deal with someone smoking even socially, then you probably should explain and walk away. People in gerneral aren't willing to change for a stranger.

I believe that if it is mr or ms right then if the other pulls a cig out and either doesnt like it then if it were th true mr or ms right they would say something like that bothers me. Maybe that other person should stop! I mean a relationship has some sacrifices! Now on the other hand if they are completley the opisite by not saying anything and stop having contact with you then they werent your mr or ms right in the first place! I am sure that the person that smokes with lots of support form the other in the relationship could very well stop! The key is support and communication!
