Need a little help here. Since I bought my house I've been plagued with water damage in my house. I have done everything possible to fix the problems that the insurance companies have suggested us do. We have had 7 different roofing contractors out here plus a historic contractor out here. They all suggested the same thing,through a processes of elimination. They all conculded that it is the vinyl siding on the side of my house. My homeowners insurance company sent an inspector out 1 time and he said that it was a drainage problem coming from my soffit between my second and third stories of my house. We got that fixed. I then had more damage from water coming in from really bad rain stroms. Again the insurance company sent the same roof contractor out and he is now saying that it is the scutter box which we just paid to have replaced. My roofers are all saying that it is the siding. MY QUADRUM IS WHO IS RIGHT. DO YOU KNOW HOW I CAN PROVE WHAT IS CAUSING THIS WATER DAMAGE? We have replaced both roofs, kept up on the maintenance, mucked the soffits and the Chimney. The water is coming in from somewhere and all I get told is "it is a mystery". I am presently racking up claims with the insurance company and have depleted our life savings for repairs. Yet the hard driving rains find a way into my home and leave nothing behind to show their entrance. If my house is so called "tight and sealed" how is it getting in here and in the same spot? I must mention that my home predates 1800 and our block is attempting to be designated as historical. These old houses have stories and many have told me they are haunted. I am boggled, everyone is boggled and no one wants to figure it out. You guys are my last resort. I have two little boys 4 and 3 with special needs, my wife is a stay-at-home mom and I am a Recruiter for the Pennsylvania Army National Guard with over 10 years of service to this country and no one has been able to help us.
