I don't know about anyone else but I would love to see a story done on the new SCAR rifle SCOM is testing in Afganistan now. Especially if they could see how the new .270 is working when going up against the .223.

yes, theres a scare light and a scare heavy i think, the heavy is a 7.62mm and has a 20 round mag... the light are 5.56mm with a 30 round, and i think theres even a light machine gun variant.
what does scar stand for? (Special Combat Assault Rifle?) i forgot what SCAR stands for.

It is not. As stated before, it is not even being fully field tested right now. And SOCOM does not order anything for the operational forces. The money comes from JSOC. JSOC then allots money to the various commands IE NAVSPECWAR, USASOC, MARSOC, and AFSOC. They then order the weapons. Not SOCOM.

Would be fun to see an episode with the SCAR in it. I believe the .270 your refering to is the 6.8 spc. Its a cool round but wont be replacing the 5.56 any time soon, good or bad.
