Look,I know many people have been upset about the orangutans are the new meerkats buisness,but thats no excuse to insult them! MadI agree that nothing will replace our meerkats,but orangutans NEED HELP.They are endangered,meerkats aren't.When you insult orangutans,even if you dont mean it you're saying you want them to go extinct.Frown My point is that even though the meerkats are more popular,orangutans are more valuable.They need YOUR help.They are in danger of disappering forever. Frown So please show some care,I know meerkats are great but orangutans are in trouble,mankind is destroying their home.It's okay to like meerkats more,but orangatans are the ones who are suffering. Frown So please stop insulting them and start helping them.I love both meerkats and orangutans and I'm not trying to be mean.I just think that orangutans are the ones that really need help and with our support they will have hope. Smile

Yes, I heard that there used to be millions and no there are only 50K left. People are brutally killing them and taking their homes away. This is tragic. For me it is just too depressing to watch, but I am all for saving them. No animal should be extinct. There is room for all animals....Meerkats, Orangs etc....

I have to agree with everyone I really like the show and I hope one day they will not hunted and terrorized. I think Lone and her staff have done a terrific job and are so caring to help these animals. I hope people will realize that the forest are shrinking and animals have no where to go but for the grace of god Lone is trying to change that.

I don't think anybody is insulting orangutans. It's just that some of us don't like the show OI. When I say don't like, I don't mean hate. It just a matter of personal preference....kind of like preferring strawberry ice cream over chocolate.

By the way the reasons people are killing orangutans has nothing to do with greed. You try living in one of the poorest regions of the world with no job or low paying job, no government "welfare", and a family to support. You would do just about anything to make sure your kids don't starve and have a roof over their heads. That includes killing animals and selling their hides or whatever.

So maybe, just maybe if we concentrated on the reasons and helped the human population, we will protect all endangered species.

sRattie, I loved the pics.

I've already made several comments on this issue on other threads. However, I love both MM and OI. In fact I love all animals. Look at my username Big Grin. OI is very educational. Such as I have donated to my beautiful Meerkats, I have also adopted an orangutan names Kesi. Organs are too cute to passover. That's my personal opinion, others may think otherwise, and I respect that.

Sorry, but for one: The meerkat boards are turning into a battle that's not even about meerkats, and two: Sorry, but they're NOT the new meerkats, and I'm not comming back here again if this orangutan stuff doesn't stop.

Great picutre rattiesrules, As I said in other post I like OI and MM. It gives me something to watch until MM comes back on and OI is not that bad of a show. I still like MM better though.

ii love the OI to but ii lovee MM .. and i think poeple shouldnt judge them both.. both staff do alot to care and help both of these animals and i agree i dont think poeple shoud hunt them to... and i think people should care what happened to these anaimal homes and enviroment and tribute and help man kind...

i agree orangutangs are in danger and if you laugh at them why are you on this site.i love meerkats as much as the next person but thats no reason to go saying mean stuff about others its not right.i think both shows are very awsome no favorites.

There is room in my world for ALL animals.

Geniebelle...There is room to help the human population without allowing an animal to go extinct. A lot of animal killing does have everything to do with greed also. Also, each living creature was put here for a reason and the disappearance of one has an effect on another.

i'm new but love the show i would like to see any new oragantans that have come to lonea's care and still keep up todate on the forest school 1's progress. I love the whole show and like i said would really like to see lonea's newbies//
