Staging makes sense to me when you live in the house and need to have furniture. But why is it so important to stage an empty house. I've seen 1/2 way staging that just makes things worse. I personally like the empty rooms and not get put off by the stuff. My brother and I are about to sell our first flip and are really torn about staging. any help?
I just sold a house in this bad market and I staged and I know that my furniture helped. The buyers commented on the set up and felt comfortable with the look and feel of the home, with the look of the empty walls I do not think that I would have received a contract during my open house. I agree, partial staging does not help in my opinion. I fully staged right down to the baking of the cookies in the oven!
Hey Y'all - if nothing else, keep in mind in this day and age of internet searches for homes, it's all about the pics so if you have at least a 5x7 rug in the room, people can get better perspective of room dimensions. However, stay away from fake plants unless they look pretty real.
Well, I asked the staging question 2 months ago... since then I've researched, bought, rehabbed and have under contract a house in Philly. I have to credit the beautiful staging job that the staging company did with the fact that the house was only on the market for 5 days! I am now a staging believer. It wasn't cheap, but it was worth the money. Everyone who looked at the house commented on how great the house looked. Anyway, I guess my question is answered. Thanks VIREP1 for your staging advise...
