I watched the flip tonight. As a conractor of over 20 years I can tell you they didn't have any inspections. That wanna be drilled 3 1/2" holes in 9" floor joists to run a 3" drain for the waste pipe. That is not up to code. Code says you need a minimum of 2 x 10 for living space. You drill a 3 1/2 hole in it your down to 5 1/2 inches. Further more You are not allowed to drill any floor joists for a 3" waste pipe. It looked like he cut through a majority of them. I wouldn't be surprsed if the 1st time the bath tub got filled with water it crashes through the floor. I want to know how an unlisenced plumber can do a ruff in as well as get an inspection ?? I am really confused. If this is what is going on in New Orleans. I feel sorry for anyone buying a rennovated home there.

Is this the flip with the 2 guys who are in the band. I don't know the codes in New Orleans but did you see that he used 1/2" PVC pipe as the supply lines for the cold and hot water. Were I come from its copper or that new
hose system connected to a manifold system.

Warm weather climates have different codes.( I would never use PVC ) even if it were schedule 40. ( what they use for residential fire sprinklers ) The new system is called PEX, it's a flexable plastic Type hose that is very inexpesive. I just did a few of my rennovations with it. I is about half the cost of copper and very easy to Fish like wires when doing a rennovation.
