I really don't think I've ever been as impressed. These men have astonishing taste. I am also jealous they are retired. They have it all! Gorgeous house.
Great episode! I wish it had been an hour long though so more questions could be answered. I assume the italian toilet worked in the end? I checked out their website www.CosmicInventory.com as mentioned on their shirts, and am awed by their other projects too. I hope to see more of their flips featured in episodes to come. True vision! Thanks!
I watch lots of home renovation type of shows and I think this is the 1st time someone actually added substantial value to a house. They turned a very boring place into a mtv-crib kind of place. Hope to see more of their work in the future.
frankgroup, its pretty pathetic if you are turned off of an educational TV show because of the orientation of the people... there is nothing "normal" about your homophobia.
I'm not a fan of watching guys prance around either. You don't need to point out the obvious either. Substantial value ? Did you see the one where they paid almost 2mill for. They put in 350K and sold it for almost 4 mill ?? That is substantial.
I thought that this show was awesome!... I can not believe how that house looked after they were finished!... Can anyone relay there experience if they did go to china with Jon and Sandy? Really thinking about going, but to cough up $5,000 to go is a bit much. Their website details their seminars and trip detail. I wonder if they really tell you all there flipping secrets and vendors!....
I just returned from China, I was on Jon's December trip. What an amazing time - China is a lot nicer than I thought it would be and very welcoming to Americans. I saw a lot more products than I even imagined would be there – lots of selection too. If you go, you are not going to believe the amount of lighting. Very overwhelming. I am sorting through all my notes and pictures from the trip so I will be ready to make my purchases by e-mail. I met Jon's vendors, and have been in contact with them since returning home. So far, they seem to be very patient with me (I don't yet have a project to place orders for!) I'm doing a walk through on a foreclosure property tomorrow, maybe this will be the one.
You have to give an update when you are finished this flip. I have two big projects possibly at the end of the year where I am thinking on setting them up to run simultaneously and purchase as much items as possible from china. I did not think that they would give "us" all there secrets but you seem to be satisfied. Did you go alone to the vendors? Where you able to bring more than one individual besides yourself to the vendor showrooms? Are the prices as cheap as they indicated. Thanks for the response! I hope that your first china flip goes well.
For $4,500 I fully expected them to give me all of their secrets and they certainly delivered. Once I saw the savings available my head was spinning – why didn’t I learn to do this sooner. I could have been setting marble tile instead of ceramic at about the same price! When I met the vendors I went with Jon, I didn’t have anyone to bring along. The prices were very low but what really blew me away was the selection; I can’t tell you how many times I wandered around Home Depot thinking “Is this it?” Every stone in the world is cut there - Italian marble, Brazilian granite and even stone from the U.S. I’ll let you know how it goes with my flip ….. if I get it, keeping my fingers crossed.
I exchanged an eamil and got a lot more information which is not in their website. I wanted to share~. --------------------- Hello,
I'm glad you enjoyed the Flip That House episode, I will pass your compliments on to Jon and Sandy. It sounds like you have a pretty ambitious project ahead of you, so you have a great potential for savings by purchasing in China.
1. A typical trip is 9 days including your flight travel time. With enough advanced notice we can shorten the trip to 7 days if necessary. 2. Purchases made after the trip will be done by e-mail. Typically, you will send the vendors pictures or descriptions of the items you are looking for and they will find them and often reply with pictures of their own. To remember the products we see on the trip, we take a number of photos and notes. As part of the training on the trip we explain this process - it's very easy. 3. To get the greatest benefit from purchasing in China, and for a project of your size, you will most likely want to fill a container and use ocean freight. Once you have completed your shopping and consolidated all of your purchases onto the container it will take roughly 4 weeks to reach your project site. 4. When placing orders from home e-mail is a more efficient means of communication. E-mail allows you to send pictures and drawings, which are very helpful in communicating. 5. There is no designated website from which to order. By your introduction to these vendors you will have access to many different factories producing a variety of products. You will not be able to return items as is commonly done in the U.S. but I think you will find that there is very little need to if you take the time to prepare your order clearly and review the pictures or specs that the vendor provides before shipping. If the vendor sends you something that is incorrect, and it is their error, they will usually take responsibility and negotiate a reasonable compensation. Keep in mind that you will realize dramatic cost savings - sometimes as much as 75% off retail. Therefore, you will be able to absorb some losses to damage in shipping. My experience has been that damage most frequently occurs during the unloading at the job site. W have had very little lost due to damage during shipping. You can also purchase freight insurance if this is of concern.
I hope this information is helpful to you; you will definitely receive more in-depth training on the China Buying Trip. Our next available trip is on March 3-12. If you are interested in attending but have some concerns, Jon offers a one-hour personal phone consultation for $150. We credit this fee to the cost of the trip. You can schedule an appointment by calling 888-9CHINA9 (88-924-4629).
I'm a professional real estate investor and I think importing materials from China would be perfect for my business. I'm planning on going on the China trip sometime this year, as soon as I'm ready to start planning my next 'flips'. Unfortunately, all of my information has been from the people who work at Cosmic Inventory and I'd like to talk to someone else who's actually been on the trip to see if it's right for me.
