I noticed that two ossuaries in the documentary had an "X" before the name. One was Jesus, the other was Simon/Peter. Simon was crucified, as was the biblical Jesus. Could this be what the "X" means? If so, that would mean the Jesus in this tomb was also crucified, which would greatly decrease the odds that this is just a random tomb, right?

That's a neat observation about the fish-head. I can definitely see how the symbol above the tomb could be a fish-head pointed upwards, but I never knew that that was ever a symbol for christianity (I mean, I know that a whole fish is a common symbol, but just a fish head?)

Regarding the other X's you posted... those were all from other cultures. I'm curious to know what the specific meaning of an "X" is when placed in an inscription on a ossuary from the time and place in question. I'd love it if Dr. Tabor could chime in on that.

According to the book (which has a lot more information than they could stick in the documentary, and I recommend reading it highly), the Hebrew equivalent of "I am the alpha and the omega" was "I am the aleph and the tao". Remember Jesus would have been speaking in Hebrew or Aramaic, which was closely related. The "tao" or "taw" - the letter "T", the last letter of the Hebrew alphabet - was understood to be the sign of righteous and virtuous people. It was usually drawn as either an X or a +. As such, its placement on Jesus' ossuary to indicate that he was a virtuous man would not have been unusual. There are other ossuaries with similar marks.

The ^ with the O at the entrance is a Kabbalist symbol meaning the top triangle of The Tree of Life. The three triangles within the tree grid, only one[1] operates with the

Page# 81 shows a pictorial of a Fish-garbed man. A full size standing man with a Fish-headress.
This man is holding objects in his left hand--- > = sheath with forked handle [ ? ] and the right hand is cylindrical.
I believe the Aztec depicted the Fish-God as "Christ-Man", holding the scale of justice and balance in one hand and judgement in the other hand. Interesting that the Pisces Age must end to bring forth the Age of Aquarius[the man] under Ezekiel's Four Living Creatures:
